mckayleesmom wrote: I just thought it would be funny to see their answer....Russell didn't know what I was talking about and Mckaylee told me she is getting me some Rice Krispy's with strawberry's (boy that commercial sounds familiar) and she said some of those things you wash your face and makup off with (hmm..could she mean Ponds wipes)..... rolling_smile.gif

Boys r us replied: rolling_smile.gif soudns like you have a good day in store!!!!!!

Heck yeah I did!! LOL Braedon told me he was getting me beautiful earrings...Hmm...wonder what he's been hearing his Daddy talk about????

coasterqueen replied: laugh.gif I didn't ask, but Kylie wanted to know where we were taking her for MD. rolleyes.gif rolling_smile.gif She knows we always try to do something fun (more for them) and she's getting excited about it. tongue.gif

luvmykids replied: No, because with DH gone unless my mom was to help them they won't be able to do something for me and I don't want them to feel bad about it happy.gif

Maddie&EthansMom replied: Yep! I did ask. laugh.gif

Maddie said "It's a surprise...I'm not telling you!" She's too wise! tongue.gif

Crystalina replied: I didn't ask but Izabella informed me that she's giving me a makeover.

Translation:

She's going to get our her tackiest, glitter filled nail polish (probably electric blue), way too sticky lip gloss or worse yet black lipstick, make me sqeeze into something I haven't worn for years because my butt has outgrown it and then top it off with her Hannah Montanna wig. blink.gif

Evan will pick me 500 dandelions (he's already started collecting them). Give me a stick of his gum, a rock and one of his matchbox cars. rolling_smile.gif

They are so sweet. wub.gif

Hillbilly Housewife replied: i doubt if dh will even remember it's coming up. rolleyes.gif

sparkys2boys replied:
OMG Crystal, that is to cute! I want to see the makeover pics when you guys are all done though ok..lol tongue.gif

Kaitlin'smom replied: Well I thought Kaitlin had her mind made up but our converstaion this morning leads me to think she is undecided. I have not asked she wanted me to guess laugh.gif

coasterqueen replied:
That would be the best MD present ever and is truly what Mother's Day is all about. I LOVE LOVE it when the girls think of what they want to give me on their own and don't feel they have to give me something materialistic that obviously they didn't pay for. Every year my girls (in the past) have given me chocolate covered strawberries that they dip themselves with the help of my sitter. I HATE strawberries, but every year I appreciate them and look forward to them - especially since they sit there and pig out on them. wub.gif

Maddie&EthansMom replied: Karen, I told Scotty to take the kids and let them pick something out. My friend's DH does this every year. A couple of years ago he took them to Target to walk around until they each found something for her. Her daughter picked out a box of tampons. laugh.gif I'm curious to know what my kids would pick out. Of course her DH got her a beautiful diamond necklace from him, but I thought it was so sweet that he let the kids each choose something. wub.gif

I think they get so excited when they make things on their own and give to us for special occasions. Ethan is having a mother's day tea at his school. wub.gif Maddie I know has already been decorating cards on her own. And we will spend the day together doing something they will enjoy.

coasterqueen replied:
Yes, we let the kids do that, too.

For Valentines Day I took the kids to the mall to pick out daddy's present (they made him things too) and Kylie was adamant that she get daddy an St L. Cardinals lunch box and plastic wuffle balls. rolling_smile.gif Not sure he'll ever use either of them but she was so proud of herself for picking them out. She also picked him out a very expensive jersey, but I told her that was over her limit of $25 to spend. happy.gif

Boys r us replied: That's hysterical Aimee!! TAMPONS!! Well..at lease someone was paying attention to what types of things she needs! HA!
The kids always go with Rick shopping to pick out something for me too. He let's them get whatever they want..and usually it's GOD AWFUL jewelry(like fake, off the spinny display thing, terrible jewelry I would NEVER wear..) and I of course wear it around as proud as can be! I have a whole section of my jewelry box devoted to my 'gifts from kids'..it will DEFINITELY be the stuff left behind if anyone ever breaks in our house..but it would be the stuff I'd be the most heartbroken over if they took it..so that works out well, lol! Fortunately, DH always saves day and gets me something awesome from him to show me how much he appreciates me being a wonderful mom to our kids! So it's always a well balanced mother's day between the sentimental and the greedy!
