Kylie threw the phone in the sink of water!
coasterqueen wrote: OMG! I am ROFL right now about ready to pee my pants! I called Dh on the way home from work to ask how Kylie did at sitter today, just like I do every day. Well we were talking and all of a sudden I heard this funny thud sound. Then I heard in a very muffled voice. "Karen, Karen, if you can hear me, Kylie threw the phone in the sink of water. I gotta go" So I'm laughing all the way home. You had to hear how he sounded!
So then I walk in the door and Kylie ran to me and I picked her up. I was asking her how her day went and she proceeds to pick her nose. I mentioned this in another post that her wonderful cousin showed her this new trick . So I said "Kylie stop picking your nose" and I grabbed her hand gently. So she starts giggling uncontrollably and starts putting her finger in her nose again while giggling. So I say it again, so she stuck both fingers up her nose! DH and I couldn't stop laughing! So now she thinks its funny to do this
Then I put her down to get changed into some more comfortable clothes and she bends down to where the cat's food is and she proceeded to eat some of Cinderella's soft cat food. Ewwwwwww . DH was like "oh no, she didn't just do that did she?" I was like "uh yeah".
She was a spit fire for at least 20 minutes then she nursed and crashed! I guess she had an eventful day at the sitter today.

DansMom replied: That Kylie is such a character! It's great that the new sleep schedule has made such a difference in evening out her moods. It makes you realize how important sleep is in general---for moms too!
coasterqueen replied: LOL. It does! I was so suprised. It's a pretty cheap cell phone so I'm kinda suprised We don't own a home phone because 2 cell phones are cheaper than what it cost us for home service and long distance. lol.
MilMunchMOM replied: Hi I am Chris, Mom to Sean 4, Kari 2 and Emily 3 months. That story had me rollin'...soooo funny. It's nice to hear someone else having those kind of days too. Would you mind sharing your bedtime routine?? I am looking for ideas. I nursed Sean and Kari until they were about a year & 1/2 and that is how they went to sleep every night. Now I have a 4yr old that has a really hard time putting himself to sleep. Kari has figured it out but will not go to sleep unless cuddled near one of us. I don't want hat to happen with Emily. Thanks
jen replied: Man that kylie is gonna keep you on your toes!!!!!!!!!!! That is too cute of a story! I would be laughing so hard!!! HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!
coasterqueen replied: Hi Chris DH and I read the book, No Cry Sleep Solution by Pantley first. Then what we took away from the book is that we realized we were putting her to bed too late and that she was taking her nap too late in the day. Basically she was not getting enough sleep and we also never had a routine for her in the evenings so there was never any predictability.
So now at 6 pm we eat dinner, 6:30 pm she gets a bath, 7 pm we watch a video, and 7:30 pm is bedtime. She usually comes over to me at 7:15 wanting to nurse and I tell her we have to go to bed if she wants to nurse. She's *usually* asleep by 7:30/8 pm but she does nurse before going to sleep. Sometimes nursing puts her to sleep and other times it doesn't.
Her nap schedule is lunch at 11:30 am and nap at noon sleeping til 2 pm or a bit before.
She gets up for the day at 6/6:30 a.m.
I know most people have routines like this but we never really stuck to one with Kylie because she didn't seem to "cooperate", but she's been doing great. She's a much happier child than she has ever been.
She used to wake every 2 hours to nurse throughout night. Now she wakes sometimes every 2, sometimes 3, 4, or even like last night it was 5 hours between a nursing!!! So it is improving for us.
Not sure if this will help you, but I do recommend the book. There are lots of good tips in there. Some I'm not ready to implement yet, but the routine I was
