Kind of proud of myself - and I kind of want my pie back

mckayleesmom wrote: Last night I went to the store to get milk and stuff.....I also picked up those Hostess apple pies...Remember my craving?,,,Well that apple pie has been on my brain for weeks. I know Im on a diet, but that apple pie is convincing.

Anyways..I get home and dh sees the pie (I knew I shouldn't have let him see it). I take one bite and he looks at the calories and tells me them...I DON'T CARE. He tells me the carbs...I DON'T CARE. laugh.gif . Then he has to go and tell me how many days I would have to work off that pie....so I hand it over bawling.gif

Then ...HE ATE IT. growl.gif

What dh didn't know is that I bought 2... rolling_smile.gif I took one bite this morning and the guilt overtook me...so I split it between the kids. dry.gif

cameragirl21 replied: Brianne, losing weight isn't easy, and when you have kids it's even harder because of the types of snacks they eat...there's just much more temptation around.
I can tell you a trick I learned is to buy grapes, seedless ones and freeze them. Then wash them and eat them frozen. They really do taste like dessert and are very healthy.
The key is to keep healthy snacks on hand, like baby carrots and other cut up veggies as well as fruit.
Your DH swindling the pie out of your mouth isn't very nice though....

Kaitlin'smom replied: oh you poor thing. Sometimes guilt can be good. Other times its bad. Did it taste good at all?

I had a 1/2 a cinamon roll a couple weeks ago given to me by a co-worker I so did NOT want it but it lookd and smelled soooo yummy well I let it sit for a bit debating weither or not to eat it even made a post about it, Teri suggested to take a bit and see if it was worth eating, well by the time I did it was cold so I spit it out and threw it away (BTW thanks Teri I use that tenique more often now). I was very proud of me after that.

The point its okay, just keep tring each day to eat better and become healthy.

mom2my2cuties replied: My husband created a new "yummy" for our company, and then after he has me hooked - he tells me that in the bag he gave me, they had like 800 calories in them. I was so mad - I can't even eat them now.

Glad you are sticking with your diet!!! I am trying to get myself together on one. I have gained 100lbs since having my daughter, and I think it was easier to gain than to loose.

CantWait replied: Brianne, the first few weeks really is the hardest. I'm a firm believer in those first few weeks you should try and avoid any sweets to get you on track. It's hard as hell, and even I goofed last night when I went out. We'll try again together starting now hug.gif

DH should have took that pie, and chucked it in the garbage, not down his pie hole. Shame on him. mad.gif

CantWait replied:
What's your company?

mom2my2cuties replied:
He has a company simliar to Homemade Gourmet and places like that - Only better.

mckayleesmom replied:
I was thinking she meant COMPANY as in people that come to their house...Maybe Im wrong.

mom2my2cuties replied: no my husband is a software programmer during the day and a chef in the evenings. smile.gif He started a small food company when we were in Dallas, and after some time away from it, and some reviewing we have sort of changed directions with it.

But Anyway - I am so happy that you stuck to your diet Bri - that is so hard. smile.gif partydance.gif

mckayleesmom replied:
Oh....I didn't know he was a chef.

Kaitlin'smom replied:
I woudl have to agree I have been trign to advoid as many as I can and if i need something sweet I go for fruit or yougert. I remember seeing on the food network or somethign that if you can cut out sweets for 1 months and use fruit instead she promised you wont crave it nearly as much if at all.

let see if that is true... rolling_smile.gif
