Kiera's 4-month checkup - Big girl!

jdkjd wrote: She is now 15 lbs 15 oz and 26 inches long. Sheesh.

The reason why she has been squirmy is because she has eczema! They prescribed lotion and told me to use Aquaphor at night on her bad spots.

Hopefully that will help her sleeping...last night I was up every hour. Ugh.

I'm trying to get new pics up but have been so busy. The in-laws are in this weekend so maybe I'll get a minute to download. Be Prepared! tongue.gif

I feel bad about the eczema, poor baby, but at least now you know what is bothering her. Hopefully the meds and the aquaphor will help.

I can't wait to see the new pics!!!! biggrin.gif

amynicole21 replied: Wow! She is a big girl wub.gif That's so great. I'm glad that you found out what was causing her to be so uncomfortable at night. I hope that the lotions work and that she's snoozing through the night soon wink.gif

Daniel's eczema got a LOT better when I cut way back on the dairy I was eating (I eliminated milk and cheese---I didn't worry about butter or milk as an ingredient in things). Just another thing you could try---sometimes it's a reaction to something you eat, typical culprits being cow's milk and/or soy.

MommyToAshley replied: Jenn, I remember this link being in the freebies section. It was for the free bear, but the site also has info on eczema that might be helpful.

Here's the link to the thread.

Sorry about the excema. I was thinking that her skin looked a bit irritated on her legs last time I was there but since I've never seen excema, I figured it was probably nothing. I have heard that softer water helps people with excema. Maybe you could get a water softener? I know our water is pretty hard here.

I hope the perscription gives her (and resultingly you) some relief.

Sorry about the eczema. I hope the creams help her rest more! I bet she's SOO adorable, too! Can't wait for the pics wink.gif !!

I can't wait til Kayla's appointment on Aug. 2nd! I'm anxious to see how much weight she's gained thumb.gif !

Jamison'smama replied: WTG baby girl. Jamison has eczema also so I understand--it is a PAIN and now that she can scratch she will wake herself up at night to scratch her spots. She has a prescription as well but doesn't always help--switching to the Aveeno bath stuff did seem to help a little. Good luck to you--hope you can get it under control.

coasterqueen replied: WTG Kiera!!!! Sorry about the ezcema. sad.gif Kylie didn't have this so I can't imagine what it's like to deal with it. Hope it gets under control soon. grouphug.gif

MomToJade&Jordan replied: Wow!!! WTGrow Kiera!!!!! thumb.gif I am glad that you have gotten something for the eczema. Jade had this in small patches when she was little. It wasn't so bad that it kept her up at night. The doc did tell me to bathe her every other day and that helped with clearing it up. I hope that the stuff you were given gives Kiera the relief that she needs. I can't wait to see the pics. biggrin.gif

jdkjd replied: Aquaphor has been the biggest help. You wouldn't believe the difference that and the prescription stuff has made.

She's slept much better the past couple nights and hasn't minded the pack 'n play.

Thank you to everyone for the eczema advice and info. wub.gif
