Kids mp3 player question
luvmykids wrote: I found one I want to get Colt (in light of his recent request to use my ipod ) but the memory is only 512MB....I can't find anywhere that tells me how many songs or how much playing time that is. Anyone know? It does say it can be expanded to 2GB with a card, how much would that cost me and do I need to do it? Or is 512MB enough for a kid?
Anthony275 replied: today i got a flyer from radio shack for a 2gb card for $20- 512 is about 70-80 songs
gr33n3y3z replied: Thats about 500 songs
Anthony275 replied: that's not 500 songs 2gb is 500 if 1gb holds 250 then 512 mb holds less
gr33n3y3z replied: Oh thats only like 70 songs if that then depending on how big the songs are Gosh where were my brains during that post LOL
Anthony275 replied: yea the bitrate but its average 70-80 songs which if i had i would never be able to live with lol
MyBrownEyedBoy replied: Probably plenty for a kindergartener...
Calimama replied: I agree.. it'd be plenty for ME.
A&A'smommy replied: my husband said probably about 135 songs
luvmykids replied: Exactly, thanks guys! Whew, one gift down....
lovemy2 replied: Mon - what kind was it? We were thinking of getting one for Olivia - she like Colt always asks to listen to the "ipad" However, ACDC's Hells Bells isnt' really kid friendly so we thought we would get her her own - what brand was it and how much if you don't mind me asking????
mom21kid2dogs replied: We got Olivia this one. http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00...csource57177-20
I really like that she can use it without headphones. It's super small (about the size of a large salt shaker) and I see it's cheaper than when I got it! We got an additional 1gig card to use with it for $9
luvmykids replied: I saw that one, Cheryl, and I was curious...how much of a shake sends it to the next song? I was a little leary of that one because I didn't know if just normal walking around and carrying it would annoyingly send it to the next song.
Christine, the one I was thinking of getting Colt is this one, only this is a different listing b/c this one says it is 256MB (instead of 512) which is a 246 song capacity. http://cgi.ebay.com/CRAZY-FROG-MP3-MUSIC-P...1QQcmdZViewItem
Anthony275 replied: to be honest with you, that looks like a piece of crap. im pretty sure the guy marked it wrong with the capacity and the songs just my 2 cents
luvmykids replied: do you have any recommendations? I won't spend more than about $30 for a kids mp3 player...but I want it to work, and I want him to be able to have fun with it. There are a ton out there, how do you know which are good and which are junk?
A&A'smommy replied: Monica I agree that one looks bad!!
Mp3 player
Mp3 Player 2 either of these would be good!!! thumb:
luvmykids replied: After reading the reviews on the shaker I think I'm leaning towards that one. But for my own future reference, what makes a good one vs a bad one?
mom21kid2dogs replied: The reviews were very good but I haven't gotten it out of the box to try it yet. My "plan" is to have stuff downloaded on it for her so she can use it Christmas morning. I assume it must require more than just a liitle shake to use it as a few adults said they bought it for themselves (or used their kid's Sansa) and liked it. My husband has a Sandisk Sansa MP3 player and the sound quality is darn good and it is well made.
Anthony275 replied: ask boo&bugsmom, she got tanner an mp3 player
Boo&BugsMom replied: I got one for Tanner. It is the same size (1gig) and says it holds up to 40 hours (yes, 40 HOURS) of music. Plenty I think. We went with a Nextar. It was $25, and also has an FM radio built in. For the age, I wouldn't spend more than that. If he were older, that'd be one thing, but for a 5-6 year old, I'm not spending a lot of money for it.
Boo&BugsMom replied: http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=5774703 It's this one. Nothing fancy, that way if it breaks I'm not out hundreds of dollars.
