What do you like to eat? I consider myself a picky eater, but I think I have gotten better. What do you eat on a daily basis? biggrin.gif

coasterqueen replied: Not offended in the least bit. I tend to have to explain my pickiness quite often because I go to a lot of hotel type luncheons and they are always YUCKY. tongue.gif

I'm what some people call a meat and potato type of gal or some have referred to me as an all American food kinda gal.

I hate almost all vegetables except I can tolerate corn and green beans...I can eat peas if I'm forced but sorta have a gag reflex with it. I do like tomato soup though (go figure)

The only fruit I like are bananas and applesauce (if you consider applesauce a fruit).

I hate mayo, salad dressings...anything of that sort of yucky goo liquid. tongue.gif

Mexican....I eat tacos with meat and cheese only and will eat refried beans..no rice or anything else weird, hee hee.

Italian...hate chunky tomatoes...makes me gag..I hate tomatoes in general but if a sauce has chunky tomatoes I better be able to pick them out.

Fish.....I don't eat any seafood what-so-ever.

I'm a bland kinda gal too. Hamburgers with cheese...plain....hotdogs I actually prefer plain but will have coney sauce or catsup/mustard on it.

I could go on...does this kinda cover it? LOL. Oh and eggs..I like eggs, hard boiled eggs...but no deviled eggs (it has mayo and vinegar - GROSS).

Maddie&EthansMom replied: Sounds very familiar! LOL! Just in the past couple of years I have grown to like more things. DH forces me to try new things. rolleyes.gif Now, if it has an onion or pepper in it...fuggedaboudit! I'm not going NEAR it!! laugh.gif

5littleladies replied: Lol-You guys are hilarious! Karen you sound exactly like me. I agree with almost everything you put on that list with a few exceptions. I am really trying to expand my horizons though. It isn't going well. wink.gif

redchief replied: I prefer eating food. Yep, food is my favorite thing to eat; as long as it's prepared like food. I've even eaten some things that only marginally qualify as food. laugh.gif cool.gif

coasterqueen replied: Yeah I'd LOVE to expand my food base but there is some psychological thing that isn't allowing me to. rolleyes.gif If I try something new I literally almost always throw it up. Sorry to gross anyone out. blush.gif I've seen nutritionist, therapists, etc to help with the problem and they basically say I'm hopeless. rolleyes.gif

The weird thing is as a very small child I liked all these things. Salad was one of my favorites THEN. So something happened or something that made me the way I am....just no one can figure it out. rolleyes.gif

Kaitlin'smom replied: hummmm have you ever (excues me for asking) asked your parents when things changed and if they have a clue why.

sounds a bit unusal, but DH is a bit on the picky side alot of what you describe he eats that way, he has gotten better about trying somethings but others NO WAY, I am afraid Kaitlin is the same way on the picky side she will taste things but hardly ever eat new things unless the first tase is good to her, it will be interesting as she gets older. I just hate feeding her the same things all the time.

Jamison'smama replied: wow I am right there with you---my DH thinks it is an endearing quirk--I am a "plain and dry" kind of gal--always get everything plain and if there is anything I like --I do like ranch dressing, it is ALWAYS on the side. I like just simple things---casseroles scare me smile.gif

I cook for DH --who will eat ANYTHING but I usually make something different for myself.

I totally understand ---it is hard to go to people's homes for dinner--you don't want to offend but some things I just CAN'T even try.

That's me!!!!!! Especially this pregnancy. emlaugh.gif

ROFL!!!!!! rolling_smile.gif

Yeah that is me in a nutshell. Not picky at all, but I was when I was little. Kind of wondered why I switched myself, since food tends to be a nemisis of mine (I think I like it TOO much). Jade is picky now so maybe she will do the same thing? I will try everything once.

FroggyJK replied: I love trying new foods!!! Very rarely do I find something that I don't like. biggrin.gif

My2Beauties replied: I am picky too! I like sauces a lot though. Like if I get a burger I get extra mayo only or a subway sandwich I get lettuce and extra extra mayo only or extra southwest sauce! Like it has to be dripping from the sandwich! My problem is I don't eat enough fruits and vegetables and live on Wendy's, Taco Bell, Arby's, KFC, and McDonald's! sad.gif

kimberley replied:
haha me too! happy.gif

coming from a filipino/chinese background, i have grown up with a variety of foods so i am not really picky. being served oxtail, chicken feet, pig/chicken with the cooked head on the plate, blood pudding, meat in a can, all veggies etc etc makes you a little more adventurous with your meals wink.gif the family motto was "don't ask, just try it" and i still do and try to get the kids to be the same. DH on the other hand is a little picky but his sister is out of this world picky. wacko.gif

Maddie&EthansMom replied:

Exactly! wink.gif I don't like going to other people's houses for dinner. How do you politely ask what is on the menu? tongue.gif
