Karaoke Birthday Party
MommyToAshley wrote: Ashely really wants to have a karaoke birthday party. So, anyone have any ideas??? It's not until September, but I usually start planning early because I don't have a ton of time to do it last minute.
I can't believe my baby is turning 7!!!
luvmykids replied: You could have everyone come dressed as their favorite pop star, or buy a bunch of headbands and lip gloss from the dollar store and let them do a quick "makeover". Sounds fun!
coasterqueen replied: I'm not sure, but I love Monica's idea.
I'm with you, I'm already trying to plan Kylie's as well, mainly because we go on our cruise not to long after her birthday and I know the next few months will be frantic. They are growing up way too fast.
MommyToAshley replied: Oh, good ideas... keep them coming please.
I am thinking of making "Backstage Passes" for the invites. I think I will laminate the invites, punch a hole and then attach it to a lanyard. But I coudl really use help from you creative peeps on the wording.
Jamison'smama replied: Jamison had a Hannah Montana party last year. We did back stage pass invitations, we hooked the video camera up to the TV so the kids could watch themselves as they were singing and performing, had a basket of microphones and played Hannah Montana Music, we also took all the party type dress up clothes that Jamison had and borrowed a few dance costumes from friends, hung them on a clothes rack in the living room for dressing up.
You could do a version of whatever that song show is on TV where you play a portion of a song and they have to remember the next line, they could win prizes for it.
You could have them get in groups and plan/ perform a short show, video them then burn a copy for your thank you notes.
luvmykids replied: I saw a cute thing on tv, I have no clue what it was on the tv but anyway this kid was acting out the song titles using charades (I think it was an ad for a HM show).
You could look at the next track and act out the title and whoever guesses it gets to sing the song, or make some kind of game out of it.
Kylie wants an "America's Got Talent" party....she wants everyone to come prepared to do a one minute talent thing
MommyToAshley replied: All great ideas!
Brenda, do you have a picture of the invitation you made or did you purchase it somewhere?
Jamison'smama replied: We made it, and I do have pictures
Jamison'smama replied: the numbers under the bar code are the date of the party
Jamison'smama replied: the back
MommyToAshley replied: SO CUTE! OK, I am totally going to copy you.... hope you don't mind. I like the idea of the barcode being the date and time.
Here's what I have for the front. I'll have to work on the back later.
MoonMama replied: Dee Dee that is adorable, I LOVE it!
Calimama replied: So adorable! Great idea!
MommyToAshley replied: Brenda, did you just play Hanna Montanna music, or did you hook up some kind of karaoke machine/program? I also like your idea of making a CD for the thank you note. Thank you for all the neat ideas -- I think I am completely copying your party!
Jamison'smama replied: Well, Jamison HAD a karaoke machine but it stopped playing cds so, at the last minute, we just hooked the video camera inputs up to the TV, set it on a tripod and just used that along with the dvd/cd player as our karaoke machine, worked just as well and the picture quality was probably a lot better.
coasterqueen replied: Those are great invites! Wow, you guys all go out for parties.
