Kailynn was bit today

zdk753 wrote: I have watched my cousin's kids on numerous occasions w/o her ever doing the same. Phillip was going out of town today so I decided it was time for payback. I dropped them off before I went to work today. About 30 mins. before it was time for me to leave I get a frantic phone call. All she tells me is that Kailynn was just bitten in the face by her brother's pit bull & I need to leave right now. Of course I leave in a panic not knowing what I will find. When I get there her face is all bandaged up & there is blood all over her shirt. I finally got the courage to look. She has 3 punture wounds on her face. 2 of which needed stitches. She now has 13 stitches. The strange thing is is I was worried about her watching Kailynn. I just figured it was b/c she has never watched her before. The main thing I was worried about was the fact that she has a pool. I never once thought about a dog. Anyways here is what my poor baby looks like now. She goes back in 5 days to get her stitches taken out.

It looks like she tried to give the dog a kiss sad.gif

Ashlynn's Mommy replied: OMG, that's horrible. I hope she gets better soon. Where was your cousin when your dog daughter was playing with a pitbul.I live in NY, and in the past month there have been at least 6 or 7 pitbul attacks on people. So knowing that, I would never in a million years leave a child alone with that dog!! What was she thinking???? I would be furious. sad.gif sad.gif sad.gif

My3LilMonkeys replied: hug.gif hug.gif Poor baby! I hope she heals quickly.

mammag replied: Oh my! Poor baby. sad.gif I hope she is all better soon. I know things can happen in a split second and it very well could have been a case of her trying to kiss the dog. I wouldn't want her anywhere near there again though.

My MIL's dog( she doesnt have him anymore) bit my nephew in the face a few years ago, it can happen so quickly. hug.gif

jaytrevjax replied: I am sooooo sorry! She must have been so scared! My feelings is that I don't care how fast it can happen! She has a vicious animal (which has been proven, some major cities won't even let people have them!) and needs to keep it where it can't get to kids!!!! What would have happened if the dog went a little lower and got her throat, or a little higher and got her in the eye! Has it ever bitten anyone else? Again, I'm so sorry, hopefully she will heal and be just as new. I will pray for a quick recovery!

zdk753 replied: Thank you all. She looks rough today. She is so swollen. The story I got last night was that no one realized that she had gotten out of the house. When they did is when they seen her fall & the dog bite her face. The story though that I just got from my boys is that there was no adults there at all when she got bit. In other words there was 5 kids between the ages of 8 & 4 alone w/ no supervision. I am furious right now. I just called the sheriffs office, but the cop I am needing to talk to isn't in right now. As soon as he is I am letting him know about it. At first I was mad anyways for it happening, but I was thinking to myself "she had 5 kids to watch & it is possible for one to sneak off." I kept telling myself that she would not have let this happen intentionally. Well yes she did. No they will not be going back there.

gr33n3y3z replied: Well I hope you get to the bottom of this very fast
And give Kailynn hugs from me

zdk753 replied:
My cousin said yesterday that it hadn't, but they had also said they told all the kids to stay away from it b/c it would bite. If I would have even known about this dog I would have never taken them there. All I knew is that they had cats.

Kaitlin'smom replied: I have to warn any kids that come over as my back neighbor has 3 dogs and the lady casually told MIL one day that they bite (only had 2 at that time) so now we are pricing privacy fencing.

poor girl.

Boo&BugsMom replied: Poor little thing!!! I can relate. Like Oaf said, I was bit in the face when I was 11 years old. I had to get 70 stitches (that isn't a typo either). Since I was still young my skin stretched out and you can barely see it now. It looks similar to Tina Fey's from SNL only on the other side of my face. She will heal and it will probably dissapear by the time she is older. Poor thing though. That had to be traumatic for her, I know it was for me. I would be pretty angry at the people in charge of her for not knowing where she was! Hope she heals soon and is ok.

KingMom replied: How frightening, especially that she had told the kids to stay away already, she should have been watching much more carefully. I'm glad she will be okay though, hope the cops can help you take some kind of action.

My first reaction would be to go after that dog, but it's the owners fault too!

mckayleesmom replied: Ouch....poor baby....I would be ticked off as he((.

CantWait replied: sad.gif Oh my, I'm so sorry. I'd be furious as well. Sounds like there's a barrel of lies going on there, and I hope you and the police get to the bottom of it. Will the dog be put down now? I hope that baby girl recovers quickly, both emotionally and physically? Has she said anything?

Ashlynn's Mommy replied: She has 5 other children over her house with that dog?? What is she going to do if it happens again, but this time a child gets killed?? She must be a moreon to leave children alone with a do, especially one of that nature. If that happened to my kids I would have this uncontrolable urge to go to her house and let her have a piece of my mind.

BAC'sMom replied: Poor thing! I hope she feels better soon. hug.gif

As for the dog I'll just say growl.gif

ashtonsmama replied: Oh JEEZ. She looks awful, poor baby! Hope she heals fast!

redchief replied: Poor Kailynn!!! I hope she heals quickly, both physically and mentally. sad.gif

zdk753 replied:
My understanding is that after the 10 days quarantine the dog will be euthanized. The only thing she keeps saying is that she just wanted to pet the cute dog, but he's mean & that all dogs are mean now. When she gets her stitches out I am going to take her over to my neighbors house. They have 2 dogs that she has played w/ before so I know they are nice. I'm going to see how she reacts to them now. I just got off the phone w/ an officer. My cousin & her brother are going to be arrested for leaving the children alone. My cousin is also being arrested for warrants & for giving them a false name.

luvmykids replied:
ohmy.gif I know my kids could get out of our old house in a split second but even with the 3 of them I always realized it before the door even closed, it's called "paying attention". Of couse she didn't intend for it to happen but IMHO you should be even more vigilant when others entrust their children to your care!!! growl.gif

And fwiw, our lab has never bit, but when other kids are here I keep him locked up just to be safe.

CantWait replied:
bawling.gif How sad for her. I'm so sorry.
I'm glad that they are not getting off scott free. mad.gif Has your cousin tried to contact you at all?

zdk753 replied:
No. I tried to call her yesterday after the boys told me they were alone, but never got an answer. Right now though it wouldn't be a good idea for her to even try & get ahold of me. I would be going to jail then. The boys go tomm. to talk to a deputy about it. The more they talk the madder I get. Supposedly my cousin (Veronica) left w/ her mom to go gambling. She left her brother (Petey) in charge which was already a no no. He supposedly left to go to a dope house. I believe what they are saying. For one thing Veronica does have a gambling problem. & the name of the person that Petey went to is a known meth dealer.

AlexsPajamaMama replied:
growl.gif Bad news
bawling.gif I feel so bad

CantWait replied: ohmy.gif Omgosh it just keeps getting worse and worse. I'm so sorry. hug.gif

A&A'smommy replied: OMG poor tiny baby!!!!! bawling.gif that is exactly why I HATE pit bulls she is a very lucky little girl!!! One of my neighbors just got bit by a pit bull and he got 46 stictes sad.gif
