How horrible. I remember a long time ago Kelly was on Oprah talking about Jett and his siezure disorder that they think was caused by chemicals in the carpet or something....I can't remember the interview clearly.
HuskerMom replied: I heard about that on the radio. It's so sad.

boyohboyohboy replied: I just can't imagine... My prayers are with that family
msoulz replied: That's exactly what I told DH. It's heartbreaking.
Kentuckychick replied: It is horrible... and so sad.
The disease Kelly was refering to was Kawasaki's (Brian Littrell of the Backstreet Boys 6 year old son Baylee was recently diagnosed with the disease). It's not a seizure disorder though. It affects the major blood vessels and arteries in the body and heightens the risk for heart attacks in the future.
From the sounds of things Jett (who died after a fall during which he hit his head in the shower caused a seizure) had epilepsy as well. From what I've heard from Kelly's interviews it sounds like Jett had a host of issues.
I don't believe the two (kawasakis disease and epilepsy) are related though.

Cece00 replied: Very sad.
I think he looks pretty developmentally delayed and has epilepsy from pictures I saw of him and his multiple seizures in the past.
MommyToAshley replied: How sad.

MoonMama replied: I was about to say the same thing, about Baylee.
I can't even begin to imagine what they are going through how horrible. Many thoughts and prayers going out to the Travolta family.
kimberley replied: how awful.
mckayleesmom replied: There are also rumors floating around that he was also autistic
Kirstenmumof3 replied: How terribly, terribly sad! My heart goes out to them!
jacobsmama replied: Jacob has had 2 febrile seizures in his life and I can tell you it is unbearable to watch..I feel for them, so sorry for their loss at such a young age.
Kentuckychick replied: I know Travolta has denied those claims on numerous occasions (of course he has that right -- he has no obligation to share information with the public). But he's also refered to Kawasakis as a "developmental disorder" that was caused by the use of carpet cleaners and began affecting Jett around age 2.
My honest belief would be that the Kawasakis that Jett suffered from around the age of 2 triggered an underlying developmental disorder (autism? -- often triggered by major illness or events) and that it's been easier to just blame all of the symptoms on the Kawasakis since Scientology thinks ill of any sort of disorder such like autism.
Again, that's only speculation, but none of the symptoms Kelly and John talk about Jett suffering from line up with Kawasakis. Kawasakis doesn't typically have any long term effects and when it does it causes heart attacks and other heart related problems... not brain related.
Again, it's horribly sad, and my heart goes out to them.
As for Baylee Littrell, his situation was really scary (the illness affected his coronary arteries) but thankfully he's doing well and is expected to make a full recovery

mckayleesmom replied: I heard that they admitted at one time that he did have autism, but didn't believe in treating him for it based on their scientology beliefs.
jcc64 replied: I feel terribly for the family--I have a 16 yo ds, and I can't imagine the pain they must be feeling. I don't know anything about Kawasaki Disease or Scientology, though I do remember being completely aghast at some of the misinformation regarding mental health that Tom Cruise spewed out on the Oprah Show. Who knows what type of problems this kid had, but it sounds like it was just a tragic accident, which unfortunately, can happen to anyone.
