Our Lil' Family wrote: I have a question. You mentioned that you used to see ghosts....would you be able to decipher if something is a spirit in a picture? I just took a pic of Thomas tonight and there is something on the pic, might just be flash or glare but I was curious if you could tell???
cameragirl21 replied: lol, funny you should mention that cuz i have a funny story about it. Some years back when I was living in an apartment i saw my cat sitting on the night stand and staring at something (on the wall)when it seemed like there was nothing there. she didn't move for hours, just sat there, which isn't like her b/c she stayed alert the entire time. Whenever I'd move her she'd get very upset and run back to that spot. Then she got on her hind legs and started playing with something that wasn't there and she was really getting into it. The next day she was just resting on the same spot and I took a pic of her just b/c she looked cute. When i developed the pic, there was a blurb in the pic right where she was staring at something the day before.... To answer your question--yes ghosts often show up in pictures and if you show me the pic, i'll probably be able to tell you if it's a ghost or a problem with the film, assuming you're using film. if you're digital, it should be even easier to tell. just fyi, there are ghosts everywhere, they're around us all the time, it's nothing to be afraid of as most of them are not mean.
DillsMommy replied: Can you post a picture of that? I would like to see it...
cameragirl21 replied: i would have to find and scan that picture, Mandy, and i'm not sure where it is b/c i've given it to various parapsychologists for their own research but i know i have it somewhere in this house, or at least the negative for it. give me some time to dig it up, i'll try to get it for you within the week or so, ok?
Our Lil' Family replied: Here's the pic, sorry if it's huge:
Our Lil' Family replied: Oh, it's digital, so no film.
cameragirl21 replied: you're talking about that orb in between the two plates on the wall, right? that's interesting. the reason i asked about digital vs film is b/c film is prone to errors on the film itself, digital isn't b/c there is no film or media on which to have natural errors. What strikes me in that picture is that the child is overexposed and the background is underexposed, with the exception of that orb. here is the question--check your lens and see if there's a fingerprint or something on it. and what about the other pics you took, do they all have that orb or marking or are they clear, assuming you took more than one pic that night. if you can't find something on your lens like a fingerprint or some piece of dirt then yes, it's likely ghost activity, especially when it's in the shape of an orb like that. very cool.
Our Lil' Family replied: I took 4 total. Two of the others have a white dot on the TV but I think that's flash reflecting. I'll post one of them and you can see. The light in the living room was not on in that pic which was why he was overexposed, I used a flash.
This is my first experience with this. I believe in spirits, or "angels" if you will so this is neat. I truely hope it was my grandfather, he never got to meet Thomas.
Our Lil' Family replied: I just realized something. The light in the dining room was always on....so why was that pic above so dark? That was the first pic....I'm pretty sure it was on...maybe not.
cameragirl21 replied: yeah, in the second pic it's just your flash reflected on the glass of the tv. but in the first, unless it's a fingerprint or something on your lens then it defnitely looks like an orb...what is on the wall on that spot between the two plates...anything?
Our Lil' Family replied: Yeah, it's just a white iron decorative scroll hanging.
This has me all psyched! Nothing like this has EVER happened to me! It's cool.
ETA: Is it just me or can you make out eyes, a nose and a mouth in the orb??
cameragirl21 replied: it does look like it could be a face, it's hard to tell, you lose some of the effect once you scan something unless you have one of those top notch professional scanners. like i said before, ghosts are everywhere, they're all around us and they're not scary or dangerous most of the time. they're just like people--there are good people and bad people and that doesn't change after death. forget the ghosts of horror movies, that's just fiction, although when i was little some ghosts did mess with me and i could tell some stories here that will have you sleeping with the lights on, so i'll spare you all the jitters. btw, there is always more ghost activity on and around Halloween, so go figure.
Our Lil' Family replied: Thanks for the help...I suspected it was but I'm glad I'm not the only one. Very cool!
cameragirl21 replied: No problem...i love paranormal activity of any kind and am always eager to hear about it or see it. happy ghost hunting!
Hillbilly Housewife replied: One of my mother's cousins sees ghosts too. He says he sees them as clearly as if he was looking at you or me.
I've had 2 experiences that I can't explain... they're kind of creepy though.
Hillbilly Housewife replied: It looks like a chunky guy with a mustache to me....
cameragirl21 replied: Rocky, I used to see them as clearly as I can see the living when I was little. Now, as an adult, i mostly see them as shadows or parts of them or I can hear them. Fairly recently, I saw one very clearly at a friend's house but that is rare for me as a grownup...of course when I was little I'd wake up in the middle of the night and see dead people standing in my room looking at me. the scary thing was, i didn't know they were dead.... I've got some creepy stories too so I know what you mean, feel free to share if you wish.
Hillbilly Housewife replied: Ok - well this guy was sitting on my bed once, it woke me up when he sat down. I screamed for my mom, she came in my room, I told her, she told me I was dreaming... but there was an indentation in the bed, like someone heavy was sitting down.
Another time, Naomie was staring off at nothing..then she raised her head and it looked like she was following something walking by... she crawled around the corner, I followed her, and then I felt a "breeze" and I swore I could hear someone running up the stairs and close the basement door. But I was home alone with her.
I swear, ghosts are playing with my head... they move stuff on me. I could swear I put something somewhere, then it's not there anymore... and later it will be.
cameragirl21 replied: Rocky, i had something very similar to your first story happen to me when i was three, it is my earliest ghost memory but it was much more intense...someone was actually talking to me and touching me and i woke up screaming and my parents couldn't see it and couldn't understand why i was screaming. i kind of regret it now b/c i'm sure whomever it was was trying to tell me something and i should have listened. what happened with Naomie is fairly common in that babies can always see ghosts that we can't b/c they're still so close to the other side if you know what i mean. i hate to say it but my stories are much creepier than that.
MyBabeMaddie replied: Jennifer I would love to hear your stories - i think this stuff is really interesting!
cameragirl21 replied: Sarah, people here would be completely freaked out if i started telling ghost stories...my friends who have known me for years get freaked out to this day when i come to their house and say something like, "oh, there's a ghost in your kitchen, let me go see what s/he wants." i will tell you this, though--i once saw the ghost of a famous person who'd recently been murdered...well, the person wasn't exactly famous but the murder trial was. anyway, i thought about contacting his family and telling them but i was afraid they'd think i was just a whackjob who wanted my 15 minutes or something so i decided not to. anyway, i told the story to someone else and while i was telling it, the light next to us started to flicker (which is a sign of ghost activity unless the bulb is burning out ) and it stopped flickering as soon as we started talking about something else.
paradisemommy replied: ooooo i vote for telling your story!! i love this stuff too..
Maddie&EthansMom replied: That is so cool! I also believe there are spirits all around us. I cant' see them or communicate with them, but I can feel them.
Naomi, Thomas is TOO CUTE with his spikey hair
gr33n3y3z replied: I want to hear those stories too
cameragirl21 replied: ok, guys, let's start with a fairly mild and non scary one. if the majority still wants to continue after that then i'll tell you more. ok, so my graphic artist's father was killed in a car accident in Moscow in the late 80s...she and her family were not allowed to see him before he died, hospital rules . and i've never met him. anyway, one night we were talking via IM and all of a sudden my keyboard starts moving on its own, kind of like this--eeee.e.e.tjnwleksanforemtoeneuhfo....this went on for a few seconds and i knew her dad was there, i could just feel him, so i asked her, "are your lights flickering?" b/c all my lights were turned off and i was sitting in the dark. at first she said no and then seconds later she was like, "now they are" and for a while we had simultaneous ghost activity as far as my keyboard moving out of control, then her lights, then her keyboard, etc. Clearly her dad was trying to tell her something.
MyBabeMaddie replied: I wanna hear more Jennifer!! PM me if you don't want to post them! If you don't mind that is But I'd LOVE to hear your stories!!!
cameragirl21 replied: LOL! why the obsession with ghosts, Sarah? you think this is fun but i was haunted by dead people throughout my entire childhood and couldn't understand why no one else could see them. it's no big deal now because i'm used to it but i was freaked out more times than i can count when i was a kid. Ok, here is one more--one night my cat was staring at this thing that wasn't there and i didn't see the ghost but could see something swirling in the air. went to sleep that night and dreamt a very interesting dream about a ghost, it was one of the most amazing dreams i've ever had. i should add that i love trunk up elephants, i collect them and i'd recently gotten an incense holder that is a ring where you put in the incense and an elephant in the middle. the next morning when i woke up my incense holder was broken...the elephant was intact but it was on a glass coffee table that sat over carpet and it had fallen in a way that defies physics--under the glass coffee table standing up...impossible for a random fall AND the ring had broken in four pieces and scattered under various pieces of furniture around the house and i instinctively knew where they all were and without looking reached under the couch and other pieces of furniture to get them out...i found them all in the first reach. some ghost was obviously really trying to get my attention!
MyBabeMaddie replied: I wouldn't say its an obsession - After my grandma died this past Easter my mom was watching some guy (I can't remember his name) on TV who says he sees dead people and was communicating with people's deceased family members and have been curious to talk to someone who sees dead people. I'm sorry if its a sore subject and you dont feel comfortable talking about if you want me to stop I will...
cameragirl21 replied: no, no,no, i'm not upset at all and it's not a sore subject, i just always like to remind people when they think this is so exciting that the kid in "The Sixth Sense" wasn't looking too happy, it's not much fun when you're all alone and dead people hover around you and won't leave. but really i'm not upset in the least and i didn't mean "obsession" in literal terms, and i'm sorry if i made you feel bad about asking because i really didn't mean to. i'm sorry to hear about your grandma, do you want to see her ghost?
MyBabeMaddie replied: Well right after Madison was born I had a dream, it was one of the most realistic dreams i have EVER had where my Grandma came up to my door and I answered it and she gave me a big hug and said "congratulations on Madison, she is beautiful" She said she missed me and loved me and would always be with me in spirit" and then she walked out of my house and disappeared walking down the street. I don't know what I would do if I saw her ghost I would probably be scared to death, think I was crazy, or cry I don't know - It would be neat I would like to know if she's happy or in a better place - She was really sick when she passed I want to know that she isn't suffering anymore... I don't know
cameragirl21 replied: well, Sarah, that dream was definitely your grandmother talking to you from the other side...i've had dreams like that about my grandma several years after she died. the dead visit us all the time and i promise you that Madison can see spirits, all newborn babies can. you know something weird--years ago when i was a tarot reader at a restaurant one of the waitresses kept a picture of her 3 year old daughter in that thing they carry around where they write down your order and leave your check. So i asked her if i could see the picture and right away i said, "your daughter has spirits around her and they never leave." and the waitress was like, "yeah, she constantly tells me about a friend that comes in thru her window and she calls him my monster friend." when i met the girl she told me all sorts of stories about her monster friend...i wonder if she still sees ghosts now that she's a little older or if she outgrew it...probably still sees them since she saw them so vividly at the age of 3.
MyBabeMaddie replied: Do you think that just any person can see dead people if they meditated/became more spiritual/thought about it? Why do you think some people see the dead and others don't? When I told my mom about my dream she was really sad that her mom wouldn't come to her in her dreams... Why do you think she only visited me? How would I go about trying to find out if she's happy now and not suffering?
cameragirl21 replied: well, Sarah, that is a tough call. asking why some people can see the dead and others can't is kind of like asking why Da Vinci could paint and others can't...some things we are just born with. think of it this way--imagine you and i are in a dark tunnel, i have a flashlight but it's not super bright, it's just bright enough for me to see what just ahead of me, you have no flashlight and you're in the dark and there may be someone else who has a very bright flashlight. i can see ghosts but they come and go, i don't just see them in every corner and i can't always tell what they want. you don't see them at all and the person with the very bright flashlight may be able to see them and have conversations with them daily. the reason your grandma came to you is because she had something to tell you...for whatever the reason she doesn't feel the need to see your mother. one thing your mom can do to see your grandmother in her dreams is put a few bay leaves under her pillow and keep a pad of paper and pen/pencil by her bead and try to spiritually focus on her mother before going to bed. it may take some time and this requires patience but she will eventually see your grandma in her dreams. yes, if you become more spiritual and open to what's out there you will see more paranormal activity. the reason kids see it more than adults is because they are not closed minded and they are not too busy if you know what i mean.
Hillbilly Housewife replied: This is really interesting.... I love hearing about this stuff. If it didn't play so late at night, I'd watch Rescue Mediums and all those other shows... but then I'd never get any sleep.
My mom's cousin has a really bright flashlight.
mom2my2cuties replied: hehehehe - I am already such a chicken ofthe dark & night for these reasons and have always have been according to my mom that I can't even watch that show on Court TV that I like where they are solving murders listening to the ghost of the one who is deceased.
Hillbilly Housewife replied: Is the show called Medium, with Patricia Arquette?
It's one of the only shows I do make time for.
mom2my2cuties replied: YES! That is it...I have watched it a couple times, but I also see things very vividly, and so I don't want my imagination running away with me or else I will land myself in the looney bin. (Perhaps I need to be there already, but no point in rushing it eh? )
paradisemommy replied: more stories more stories...pleeeeasssseeeee
My2Beauties replied: I have a really good friend who swears she has always been able to see ghosts since she was a little girl and that her deceased grandpa visits her often. I believe her too because she tells me her stories in great detail and she's like LeaAnn you probably think I'm nuts but I swear to you I'm telling the truth. Me, I think I would be freeaeaaakked out if I could see ghosts!!!
coasterqueen replied: I saw my grandpa's ghost a few times, then never again. After he died we moved into his house. I woke up one night to go to the bathroom, looked outside at the swing in the front yard that has a huge light that shines on it and he was swinging, he smiled right at me. I could see him clear at daylight. I could make out every inch of his body in detail, except he did have a light-ness to his body, like a ring of light around him. Hard to explain.
I saw him again another night when I woke up to go to the bathroom. So every time I woke up and had to go I'd look for him but never saw him again.
I believe in ghosts because I have to. I want to see my aunt again, I want to talk to her.
cameragirl21 replied: ok, i will tell another story but i don't think you guys are going to like it. ok, when i was a little girl my bedroom was carpetted but it was off the hallway to the foyer which was tiled. anyway, one night in the middle of the night i heard loud footsteps coming from the foyer and they were clearly coming toward my room. i had been used to seeing strange people in my room at night so i shut my eyes really tight b/c i really didn't want to deal with any of them at that point, just wanted to go back to sleep in peace. anyway, they came closer and closer and i hid under the covers and then someone was hovering over my bed and i could hear its breath and feel the heat of its breath thru my blanket and it got closer and closer to where i almost couldn't breathe b/c it was breathing right over me and i could hear it muttering so i really believed at that moment that it was going to kill me so i braced myself for the big bang and all of a sudden, i can't hear or feel anything anymore so i peered out from under my blanket and saw the back of someone walking out the door and it vanished into thin air. and then i went back to sleep.
Hillbilly Housewife replied: oooh Creepy!!!
I'd love to be able to "train myself" to see ghosts.
