Jenna's Appointments - good news and bad:(
mummy2girls wrote: We saw her surgeon and he is still concerned about her drooling. he prescibed some meds and she goes back in 3 months. If the meds havent improved anything then she will need surgery again. But this time they will thin the lining of the nose and make the air passage a bit bigger. So she may need to go back under again:( He also says she has reflux or suspects it so she was given meds for that.
Off to the asthma doc and he said that there is not much improvement so she still needs to be on the puffers and nasonex spray. I go back in 3 months and if she is still the same then he will try singlenar(sp?).
Also the surgeon referred her to an OT at the glenrose hospital and she will need to go there. She sees one at school but he feels that she needs more than what she is getting at school. which i agree!
But thats all for now.. will this ever end? I am on the verdge of crying and i just feel like such a failure!!!!
redchief replied: Aww, I hope it's just something she'll grow out of without intervention, Shelly.
gr33n3y3z replied: Awww I'm sure she will be just fine with a little time Please keep us up dated
boyohboyohboy replied: shelly, i dont know if this helps any, but caleb took the singular for his asthma for several years, and he liked to take it, it tastes good, and he did really well on it.
also is it possible that the nasonex is causing some of the drooling? I have a friend who takes that steriod, and the dr told her that might be a side effect?
you are a great mom!
Kentuckychick replied:
The little girl I nanny for used to take Singulair and she loved the stuff. It was teeny tiny and apparently didn't taste nasty (and she said it made her feel all "unsnuffled")
Hopefully they will find an answer for you and for Jenna though
mummy2girls replied: no because she has been drooling waaay before the surgery and the nasonex spray.. so he thinks its coming from some other medical problem...
lovemy2 replied: Hang in there Shelly - it isn't all bad news - at the very least she isn't any worse - you are doing a wonderful job just by being there and making sure she gets what she needs and then some
A&A'smommy replied: You are NOT a failure, you are a WONDERFUL mother!!!! I hope that her problems get better before 3 months!!!
Kaitlin'smom replied: your not a failure by anymeans if you were would would refuse help for her. Your an awsome mom for doing all you can to help her.

HuskerMom replied: You're a great mom!
Boo&BugsMom replied: Shelly, this isn't anything you created, you are not a failure. Things happen to the best of people and the best of mothers. Hang in there. Things could be much worse.
mummy2girls replied: Thanks guys you made me feel better. i know im not a faliure and i could nto of prevented it but hearing yur child has alot of probelms developmentally and mediacally is hard to take in...
coasterqueen replied: I know sweetie. Like we try to tell ourselves over and over again -- at least we are trying to remedy the problems and get them help. Some don't even do that and we search and search for everything we can to help them out. You are doing great at that.
