Jenna's Allergy/ Asthma appointment...
mummy2girls wrote: Well it is good news and bad...
The good news... She is not allergic to anything.
The bad news... she has asthma, but not environmental induced asthma like she was thought to have a while back. She is on 2 puffers. One she has to use 2x's a day. That one she uses a aero (sp?) chamber. it seals on her mouth and on teh end the puffer goes in. and she takes 10 breathes per puff( 2 puffs). and then she has a second puffer but that is only used for emergencies for if she has a cold and finds it hard to breathe. She has been on this before. she just has a second puffer now she needs daily. And she is on nasonyx(sp?) nose spray. and she needs that daily.
so that is what is happening. She goes back in 2 months for a follwo up to see how the puffers are helping.

PrairieMom replied: I'm glad they are doing something to help her out. You should use that aero-chamber with the rescue inhaler too, and don't forget to rinse her mouth / brush her teeth after using that daily one!
FYI, asthma is not that bad. Its gonna be fine. I'm here if you have questions. Its actually something I know a little about.
Jamison'smama replied: Sounds like Jamison's routine as well but we also have the nebulizer for those rescue needs (Jack still uses the neb for his meds). So her asthma comes on when she has a virus? That is exactly my kids too. Poor sweetie. This will help a lot I'm sure!

luvbug00 replied: Mya did the same thing ans still does. she'll learn to do it and it will be like clockwork.
mummy2girls replied: yes they thought at first environmental but hearing her history he thinks the asthma sets in with only she has a virus.
redchief replied: I'm sorry to hear about the asthma, Shelly. I'm glad that you know what's going on now, though and have a plan for managing it.
