Jason just got released form the hospital

We phoned the ped and she said to watch for dehydration and if he is still vomiting in the morning, bring him in. He was up vomiting all night, poor baby. After changing his crib 3 times DH and I finally got it down to a science...running in when he started coughing and getting him over the pail. While I changed him and cleaned him up, Dh cleaned out the pail. We brought him into the ped Monday moring because he was very lethargic. He preceded to vomit all over me in the doc office, she sent us to the emergency room. Thank GOD my Dh decided to stay home from work, becuase I was a complete mess having to bring my listless baby into the emergency room!!!! He was like a wet noodle...very uncomfortable. They hooked him up to an IV and drew blood. His ped admitted him into the hospital when she got the results of the blood test. He was dehydrated and he couldn't keep anything down. We had a very rough night Monday night, Jason had a high fever all night. They nurses were giving him motrin and tylenol, at 2 AM he was buring up almost 104, the nurse woke me up and told me that we had to give him a sponge bath. The poor guy was screaming, buring up, and I was crying, the nurse was trying to comfort me, I was trying to comfort Jay....It was horrible!!!! Eventually his fever went down tuesday morning and he started to perk up just a bit. We had to stay at the hospital another night and we were discharged this morning. This moring he ate a bannana and about 4 bites of pancake....that was the first food he kept down since breakfast Sunday.
He is drinking pedialyte and he is snoozing now.

kit_kats_mom replied: OMG! I'm so sorry. I'm glad that he's on the mend. It's so hard to watch our little ones when they are that ill. That Rotavirus is a nasty bug. Take that Rotavirus.

jem0622 replied: So sorry that he was so ill! You know...I honestly believe Gabe had this in March and I didn't take him to the doc. When I hear about kids getting this and ending up in the hospital I wonder if I did the right thing. He is okay now so I guess I should worry myself over it. He slept with me every night.
