Jason had to go on the breathing machine
ediep wrote: well, a few days ago I posted about cough medicine and since then he hasn't really gotten much better. I took him to the ped and he said that he has congestion in his chest that could be bronchiltis. He said it could lead to pneumonia...anyway, he gave us the nebulizer to do the breathing tratments 3 times day along with an oral antibotic. HE was scared the first time, but he was fine after that.
We have to do the treatments 3 x a day untul Tuesday, the he goes back to the doc for a recheck
send some positive thoughts our way that this helps and he doesn't continue to get worse
mckayleesmom replied: Russell had to get breathing treatments when he was around a year old.....It is scary when you think they just have a cold and find out its brochitis.
PrairieMom replied: OMG. When I read this I thought you meant a breathing machine, like a ventilator or "life support" You had me super scared for a second.
I hope he is feeling better.
ediep replied: sorry
I guess its called a nebulizer
mom21kid2dogs replied: My best friend's children both had/have to use nebulizers for athsma throughout their childhood. They can be scary til kids get used to them.
Hope Jason is feeling better soon!!
amymom replied: When I read the title I was hoping it was a nebulizer instead of what Tara said.
Mary Beth has used one since she was 4 weeks old, but has not needed it in two years so we are doing better!!! But when she was about Jason's age, she preferred a tube instead of the mask. And she would sit in front of the TV (volume on high) or sit with some books and hold it herself. It really was more calming when she felt she had control.
Ihope he will do well and feel better fast!!!
C&K*s Mommie replied: I was nervous too when opening this thread. I was thinking life support too.
Hope he feels so much better soon, and is back up to par quickly.
gr33n3y3z replied: I hope the Neb treatments work keep us posted
My3LilMonkeys replied: I hope it helps him. My nephew used to use a nebulizer when he got sick and he got used to it fairly quickly.
A&A'smommy replied: POOR baby!!!! I hope he feels better!!
ediep replied: so far, I think they are working. He is cough A LOT LESS! he is sleeping better, we back to the doc for a recheck on Tuesday. Hopefully, he'll say that he is all better and can resume normal activity. (he had told me to try to not let Jason run around too much, so we missed 2 soccer games, and he has gymnastic on Tuesday, that he is really hoping not to miss)
DansMom replied: Oh, poor Jason! We've been there---the great thing is that the meds really work.
CantWait replied: Poor little guy. Hope he gets better quickly.
luvmykids replied: I'm sorry, I'm all too familiar with the nebulizer. The only thing that keeps me from hating it is that it actually does help. Hope you don't have to do it much longer
amynicole21 replied: Yuck! Poor kiddo I hope he's feeling better soon.
A&A'smommy replied: let us know how the appt. goes!!!
MommyToAshley replied: Poor little guy! Glad to hear the meds are working and he is on the mend.
