Jakob to the er last night

Jakob put something in his mouth yesterday afternoon, I turned just in time to see him do a chewing motion, and then start to choke, and then throw up. I tried to see in his mouth, but he kept gagging, and choking, I tried to feel inside his cheeks, nothing, so he started to turn blue, but he was breathing. The pedl lives a few feet from our house, I called there first, said that Jake was choking, but he was breathing, can I bring him in there? They said no, he had to go to the ER.
So off we went. I had my poor almost 5yr old, who was crying "please dont die Jake" all they way there.
Jake seemed ok by then, but I was afraid what ever it was was caught lower in his esophagas, or else would get stuck in his colon.
so we went to the er spend 4 hours there, and an xray later, to find that what ever it was, was either spit out or eaten.

so needless to say, it was an exhausting night.

But on a good note, there were no naps yesterday so everyone slept well last night!

I'm glad he's ok though and I'm sorry you got the scare like that.

boyohboyohboy replied: HI! Thanks for all the kind words. Jake is doing fine. He is still walking around trying to find any little piece of lint or string and eat it. I am following him with my vacuum!

I cant for the life of my understand why he wants to eat off the carpet but wont eat real food!

I wonder why the Ped wouldn't help? I would think in an emergency like that he would allow you to bring him there just to make sure everything was ok enough for you to drive to the ER.
