boyohboyohboy wrote: well, the good news is that he does not have the EOS disorder, and was diagnosised with GERD. she is going to do a test that will determine if his stomach is emptying to slow to see if thats what causes him to throw up. as usual the allergist and the GI dr as still not agreeing and now are going to call the ped and each plead their case and then we are going to talk to the ped, its just to much for us to make a decision. the GI was actually calling the allergist names today, and saying he wasnt qualified to touch jake...so that was great too.
we are trudging along.
amynicole21 replied: Ugh... well at least GERD is readily treatable. I just wish you had some definite answers! Hang in there.
ZandersMama replied: sorry it is so difficult
CantWait replied: I can't imagine how fustrated you are.
DansMom replied: Too much, Stacy. I'd be pulling my hair out! I guess the bright side is that everyone wants to find out what is going on. As far as allergies go, trust your instincts and try eliminations for several weeks of the things you think are causing noticeable problems. It's certainly possible that Jake has two situations going on---some food allergies and Gerd. It doesn't hurt to keep his diet very simple while the docs work out what's going on.
MomToThreeAngels replied: I am so sorry you and your family are going though this. I myself have GERD and i do have delayed gastric emptying. Does he get full faster than usual?? I know i get full alot quicker and i do get nausious (SP) and i do throw up because the food just sits there and it has no place to go so i have to take Reglan to help digest my food quicker.
lisar replied: I agree. I hope you get some answers soon. Hang in there.
MommyToAshley replied: Glad to hear he does not have EOS disorder.
My goodness, I can't believe these docs can't act more professional. I think you are doing the right thing by bringing in a third opinion to help sort everything out.
P&PT's that you can get to the bottom of everything soon.
A&A'smommy replied: ohh I'm glad you got some kind of answers but that your doctors are acting INCREDIBLY immature and unprofessional!!!
boyohboyohboy replied: we are headed to the dr tomorrow, the ped actually to ask for some help in handling the "professionals" but on a happier note, jake has been asking for food this week, even things that are on the so called allergy list, and we have just been letting him eat what ever he asks for, and he hasnt seemed bothered. he has gotten sick twice in the last week, and he was even constipated this am...which considering he had never had a solid poo was amazing..
I am wondering if jake hasnt just decided no one is helping so he is working thru this himself...or else the antihistamine, is starting to work also and not let the foods bother him. we havent really tried an elimination diet yet either.
msoulz replied: That is great news Stacy! I hope the little guy continues to chow away.
DansMom replied: Oh, that is promising! I've noticed that allergic kids develop an instinct for what they can eat and can't eat. Keep us posted---I'm very interested and hopeful.
