Jacob got burned :(

jacobsmama wrote: bawling.gif bawling.gif bawling.gif bawling.gif bawling.gif bawling.gif bawling.gif bawling.gif I got a call from work Tuesday and Jacob touched the babysitters wood burner and burnt his hand! bawling.gif bawling.gif I tell you that poor boy, one thing after another. I met DH at the peds with him so we didn't have to sit in ER for hours and they wrapped it up gave him tylenol with codiene for pain and I have to put this cream on it like a few times a day and keep it covered at all times.

SOrry I"m just now posting blush.gif But with him having 1 hand basically i'm doing alot and holding him alot because as a mother I feel terrible this happened.
We aren't sure why he touched it and the wierd thing is we think he is left handed and it was his right hand, also it was on top of his hand not the inside like you would expect.....

At night I pray please God let my son's hand get better and heal completely. Please help me pray. bawling.gif

MyBrownEyedBoy replied: Could he maybe have brushed against it while walking past? I am so sorry Jacob hurt his hand. P&PT for a speedy recovery.

jacobsmama replied: We don't think he brushed it because how is hand is burned on 3 different fingers it is like he put his hand up to it like the back of it to see if it was hot? But we will never know, one thing for sure he is scared scared of it and i'm not sure he will touch anything hot for quite some time. blush.gif

MyBrownEyedBoy replied: Oh, poor baby. I have been working with Logan on understanding "hot" as don't touch. He hasn't been burned yet, but he likes to touch the oven door and I am sure one of these times it will be a bit too warm.

jacobsmama replied: yeah Jacob has bad habit of touching it too and ours is the kind that doesn't get hot but I try to get him to understand not to do that because it is hot and now he asks me before he does anything...is that hot mama? He knows..the hard way wub.gif

MyBrownEyedBoy replied: Sometimes I hate our stupid older appliances in this house. Our oven has a glass window in the door and that sucker gets HOT!! I touched my leg to it once while I was wearing shorts and it stings! I don't want Logan to have to get burned to learn his lesson. Especially since he seems to have to experience things several times before lessons sink in. Like falling off the couch before learning to back off it, getting his fingers chewed by the guinea pig before learning not to stick them in the piggie's cage. The list goes on and on.

luvmykids replied: Poor Jacob! I'm sorry that happened to him, he must've been terrified. When I was little we had a wood stove and I was getting dressed in front of it when my dad opened the door to go out. A cold gust came in and I backed up to get closer and backed right into it. It fried my bottom, I had the logo of the stove company branded on my butt; it didn't go away until I was a teenager!

Anyway, sorry again to hear he got hurt and I hope he feels better very soon!

~~*Missi*~~ replied: AHHHHH poor little guy. Just hold him and love him mommie.
Follow the dr's orders and all will be OK.
