It's not working.

~Roo'sMama~ wrote: I'm trying so hard to get Andrew to be a Nuk baby and not a thumb suckin' baby, but I think he's got other plans! tongue.gif I keep catching him sucking his thumb ~ he's getting pretty good at getting it in there too. Oh well I guess it's not the end of the world... maybe if I'm lucky he won't still be sucking it when he's 12. rolleyes.gif

Andrew is so cute

boobies4virtue replied: Mine was never a thumb sucker. Nor was she ever much of a binky baby. But who cares if he sucks his thumb, he look oh so cute doing it!

5littleladies replied: Lol!!! He's so cute!! wub.gif Oh well. Maybe he won't turn out like the girls. biggrin.gif And if he does, the band-aid trick is working really well on Meg so there's hope. wink.gif

coasterqueen replied: laugh.gif He is such a DOLL!!!!!! wub.gif

I felt/feel the same way as you do about the thumb sucking. Look at it this way, though. You won't be getting up half a dozen times at night to figure out where the binky went because he woke up and it's not in his mouth. rolleyes.gif Kylie was attached to her binky and I swear that child would lose her binky too many times each night and I'd be searching every where in the dark for it. wacko.gif So at least he won't loose his thumb. tongue.gif rolling_smile.gif

mckayleesmom replied: awwwww...I love that pic...Mckaylees 5 month ultra sound picture is of her sucking her thumb....she didn't do it too much after being born,,but refused the binky. Russell hates the binky and sucks his thumb accassionally....and his big toes...

mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: I think thumb sucking is fine, especially this young. Babies need to suck. baby.gif But...now I don't want to start an argument here...but you guys keep saying "well at least he won't lose his thumb". I actually find this the problem. The thumb is always there, so you actually can never get rid of it. I can throw a binky away when I think it's time, but you can't do that with a thumb. Yes, I admit that I come running in Wil's room at night frantically searching the floor for the dropped binky, but I think this will eventually be an easier habit to break. Now don't get me wrong, your son is too young to worry about habits, but just a forwarning, my SIL still sucks her thumb and she's 28! blink.gif And I still bite my nails because, well, "I can't lose them, they're always there!"

~Roo'sMama~ replied:
Lol that's why I wanted him to only use the nuk. tongue.gif I don't have anything against thumb sucking I've just seen firsthand how hard it is to break the habit later. rolleyes.gif I don't mind if he occasionally sticks his thumb in his mouth when his nuk isn't around but I didn't want it to be his main comfort thing I guess. wink.gif He does like his nuk too - he just has a hard time keeping it in sometimes.

~Roo'sMama~ replied: Thanks everyone. wub.gif I think he's pretty cute with his thumb in his mouth too - even though I didn't want it in there to begin with. tongue.gif
