Its a boy (ok we already knew that)

DETAILS:

Ok we got there at 0300, they checked her out and let her rest on some Fenegren and at 0500 got an epidural. Was examined every few hours to chek her dialation (I dont remember everythin right now I'm very tired as I havent slept in like 43 hours)

SO....her first EPI died out at around 430pm-ish and they gave her anotehr one because she was at 9CM and ready to start pushin. Pushin started at 6pm and lasted until 8pm with little results other than the baby moving south a little, the head could not get past her pelvic bone. So, we decided on a C.S and they prepped her then gave her another epidural and at 9:04pm our son came out....Mason Ray 8lbs 9 oz @ 21.5 inches.

I really don't think her epi was in full swing whent he C.S. started becuase it was the worst thing I have ever seen someone go through. She was hurtin but she did very good and I am proud of her.

Due to allt he contractions and her being in labor so long her uterus had an infection called Corea and in spread to the baby via umbilical cord, they both were given antibiotics and are gonna be fine from that.

I was the first person to feed/burp him and then i let him sleep, they checked him out a second time then she went to see mom.

One benefit to being a section mommy is a longer stay in the hospital. Tell her to get the rest while she can

Yes, labor and contractions hurt like h***, but it's over for her now. And in the grand scheme of things, it's not very long. You sound like a really sweet husband.

Ivy was really wantin be to make some updates for you guys. She's sleepin riht now, I came home to get soem rest...I thought I was gonna sleep lastnight but I got home at 430 then she called me at sick really scared becuase she lost alot of blood so they were gonna give her some...700ml (2 units) to be exact. Both will be on antibiots til wednesday and maybe she will take some meds a lil longer.

Momma is doin very well considering how rough it was....and her C-section was very painful..one of the nurses also didnt think her epidural had kicked in so she had alot of sensation in her body. I hope I never hafta go thru that again, I felt so helpless watchin my baby be in pain

But, shes eatin jello and chickin broth and hopefully she'll get some cream-of-wheat tonight..shes been dyin to eat some.

Baby is good, lil funny on eatin but hes still tired. Sucks for me..I hafta change all the diapers when I am there.
