Its a BOY! - We had our ultrasound yesterday!

My DH is thrilled, beyond words. He desperately wanted a son. My older boys arent biologically his, and though he loves them as if they were his sons, he wanted a son to name after himself.

We have a daughter already, and I've mentioned before he has another kid that does not live here (a girl, also) so we thought the chances of having a boy were pretty slim!

Needless to say we were very excited and surprised to see little boy parts on the screen yesterday.

So we are now awaiting the arrival of John Patrick, Jr (aka Jack)

He looked great, everything is 100% as far as the ultrasound can tell (we had no reason to expect otherwise) and he is measuring a VERY healthy 9 days ahead. So maybe he'll be a big baby, who knows?

My csection will be scheduled sometime in August.

Our family has always called Natalie "The Princess" and now I guess she is the one and only Poor thing, she'll grow up having 3 brothers to "protect" her- I'm sure she wont be too thrilled about that when boys try and talk to her, but oh well. I feel a little sorry for her that she wont have a sister to share things with, but I guess thats just how it goes.

This is DEFINETLY our last baby- I am getting my tubes tied during the section and DH will be getting a V once the baby is born (we want to make sure he is born OK & healthy before we do anything permanent, if- god forbid- something happened while I was still pregnant, we'd probably try again).

Anyway, just wanted to share the good news!

Mom2BNTN replied: Congratulations!!! I am so happy for you both! My Dh and I had wanted a son also so I remember when we had our u/s and the tech asked us if we wanted to know the sex and we said yes and then she told us we were having a boy! We were so happy and I know you are too.
