It sold! - our house
Our Lil' Family wrote: After 2 months of being on the market, and me beginning to get nervous, we signed a contract on our home! We should close Sept. 30th. Bad news is that our new house will not be complete until Oct. 15th, or more like the 30th probably. My dad has a 5th wheel camper he's bringing us to live in until our home is done. It'll be tight but it's a roof over our heads! I'm just glad our house sold.
I have 3 weeks to pack up 7 years of our life....it's very bittersweet...this is our first home, and where we brought Thomas home from the hospital. Lots of memories here but I'm looking forward to making new memories, and eventually bringing home another baby, in our new home!
If I'm not around much just picture me among MANY boxes and probably pulling out a few strands of hair!

I can imagine how hard it would be to leave your first home, but at the same time it would be exciting starting your life in your new home. You'll have to show us pictures of the new home when it's done!!

mckayleesmom replied: Good Luck and Congratulations. I am an expert mover now. I usually pack up things we don't ever use first and designate a room to start storing it in. I also packed up the majority of the kids toys and just left out a small basket full, this way it doesn't seem like you are constantly recleaning the same messes of toys.

Yeah, I think we might get a storage room now and bring over things like Christmas decorations, yearbooks, winter clothes, etc. Thankfully my dad's camper is FULLY stocked so I will need no kitchen items, basically just our daily necessities and some toys for Thomas, very limited toys! I'm procrastinating so badly right now but I do need to start today.

DVFlyer replied: Do you have those POD companies out there? They bring a storage container to your house and you load it to the brim. When full, they come and pick it up and hold it for you until you're ready for them to bring it back.
Very convenient.
Our Lil' Family replied: I am looking into the pod storage. I'll leave that up to DH, I think he might rather the idea of loading the storage building a little at a time. Not sure, it looks like the pod thing would be about $150 more but IMO, probably worth it.

Wish I were there to help you pack. Although I'm not sure how much work we would get done.  But you will get through it and just think, it will be the LAST move for a LONG time. Well, at least five years.
