It really upsets me - when people do not watch their children
momof2girls wrote: Ok Im not one for venting but I have to tonight Today I went to the mall and I lost count of how many kids under the age of 5 I saw wondering alone withought a parent right next to them. I was in Sears and saw a lil girl that must have been 3 me and my daughter was the only other people around... so I asked the lil girl if she was lost, she said no.. I said did you come here with an adult, she said uh yeah.... I took her to a cashier and they paged security... I mean its just crazy. Im super paranoid even my daughter that is almost 9 does not leave my sight. I dont know what these people are thinking, or not thinking but it makes me so mad.
A few weeks ago I was in Target and this lil boy about 2 was standing up in the back of the shopping cart and his mom was down at the end of the isle, I was walking by and said to him "sweetie sit down you might fall out and get hurt" the mom says to me rudely, Ive told him that several times, maybe if he falls out he will learn a lesson, I just gave her a nasty look, Im thinking uh maybe if he falls out he will bust his head open and YOU will learn a lesson.... I wanted to knock her out!
Its just crazy!! Its hard for me to bite my tongue in a situation like that! But I did.
Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Mistydiane replied: Those type of parents do not need children, things like that aggervate me to no end. And they wonder why so many small children get hurt.
MommyToAshley replied: I totally agree with you. I don't understand people like that... do they not care?
DixieDarlin replied: Maybe he will learn a lesson?! Sheesh, he's only 2! She should have had him in the front of the cart where he's supposed to ride! People like that make me so mad!
loveydad replied: You could not be more right!!
We were at the carnival not long ago and this kid was PEEING on people as they walked by. HIs mom was bsing with some other people and totally ignoring him.
Then this woman let a high schooler babysit her almost 2 year old son. They sat their throwing him to each other, letting him jump off picnic benches, and the topper for me was when she was ignoring him so he ran out WITHIN FEET of a backing up van and fell down. He could have been hurt.
I see it all the time. People just let their kids run wild where I live.
paradisemommy replied: OH i can totally relate..
we were at chuck-e-cheese today and this little girl, looked about 2 kept coming over to our table handing us her hat (i guess to help her fix it). don't know who her mom was but she obviously didn't give a hoot on where her child was because she kept coming over and trying to grab our stuff..
THEN we were at costco the other day and some lady left her (looked like 3 or 4 year old) inside a cart, pushed right up to the big screen tv and she was probably 200+ feet away at the OTHER end of the aise..the little boy was standing up leaning out the cart ready to fall out..CRAZY..i don't leave taven out of my sight..
ok sorry for adding my story but it really gets me when adults can't watch their kids!!!!
ediep replied: omg!!! That is so horrible!! How can someone let a little kid wander around by themselves!!!! There are so many crazies out there!!
momof2girls replied: Im glad Im not the only one because I see this stuff all the time it makes me so mad. We live in a cul de sac and this lil girl that lives at the very end of the street, about 15 houses away used to always walk down to my house by herself, her parents dont know us at all... insane!!!
whew I feel better now
momof2girls replied: Tammy Chuck-e-cheese is one of the worst, I think some parents think once they get their kids in there they are "safe" and let them run around.. there are soo many things they can get hurt on, not to mention the creeps living in this world that could scoop them up, take them...... I used to take my oldest there and I had to run around and chase her everywhere, we would even go in the tunnels with her!!! I mostly send dh in there with her. lol
A&A'smommy replied: OMG that is just crazy!!!!! that story about the rude lady just errrrrrr I think I probably would have had a hard time biting my tonge too!!!
DixieDarlin replied: The Chuck E Cheese in Boise is pretty neat (we used to live there). They stamp your hand and your childs hand with a number. They stand at the entrance and the exit. If you start to leave and your number doesn't match the number on the child's hand, you DO NOT leave with that child. I still wouldn't let my child run around unattended, though. Some sicko could still get them and take them in the bathroom, or like someone else said, they could get hurt. I have had people tell me that I'm over protective but in this day and age, I don't think it's possible to be over protective!
dolfinrse replied: We live in a condo and our neighbors let their kids run around outside by themselves all the time. I know that there are people in and out of the complex all the time, and the mother works, but the father lets the kids outside while he is inside doing whatever. He doesn't work at all.
ctymom replied: This really upsets me too. I live next door to parents who dont watch their kids. They have 7 kids and I have yelled at the mother so many times about not watching her kids. As soon as they can walk, she lets them run around outside unsupervised. I guess her other children (2nd grade and under I think...I lost track). I had to yell at one of the little ones to get out of the street b/c she was laying down playing in a puddle of nasty water! I've seen them standing on the roof of one of those riding cars while leaning over a wood picket fense! I know what those can do b/c in the 3rd grade I was climbing one, slipped and it went into my leg cutting the muscle etc. They could have slipped and it would have speared them in the chest.
The dad works probably 70 + hours a week and the mom 'watches' them. She stays in the house all day while the kids are outside by themselves at all ages! One of biting the heck out of another and she was screaming... the mom never came out. But she did come out when one of them was playing with a toy and making alittle noise.
Why did they have so many kids only to ignore and let them raise themselves??
I've had to throw my hands in the air and not glance over at them. I've warned them and the police.
I wanted to add... Chuck E Cheeses is the awful for parents not watching their kids! One girl was kicking the heck out of one of my sons. I asked the girl where her parents were so I could tell them she was being mean and kicking my son. She cried and ran away. lol No parent cared enough to approach me. So, I hate that place.

momof2girls replied: WOw that is bad, the thing is Im always outside with my dd who is almost 9 and I think that the other parents just assume Im watching their kids too, and I cant tell you how many times I have told them to get out of the street, finally I told a few of the kids they cant come to my house anymore, the siblings 4 and 5 yo would fight I mean beat each other up.
It makes me wonder why these people have kids....
I see I am not alone!
ctymom replied: Nope.. you are not alone! The other neighbors let their 3-4 year olds run around outside alone too. (that's 11 kids in a duplex! The 7 kids live in a 2 BR and the 4 kids in a 2.5 BR) Anyway... they ended up riding their hotwheels cars on my new Town and Country mini van!! Leaving scratches. I finally told them they are no longer aloud in my yard.
Many times I've had to yell at the kids next door to get out of my yard, off my fense, to stop throwing rocks and spitting at my dog!
And to top it all off.... the owner with the 7 kids made a CONCRETE play yard for the kids in the front!! We called the town and complained about it and they took the playscapes out of there.. but now it's all back up again. Complete stupidity.
