Isolation and the Transplant is Scheduled for 2:00
Kirstenmumof3 wrote: We've moved to the isolation room. All of his books, movies, computer, gameboy, pictures and lego sets all had to be wiped with these disinfectent clothes. One child took the liberity of decorating the windows with stickers, it's kinda cute. The isolation room we are in has a sink, THANK GOD! The other one didn't. But the sink is for Spencers use only. I need to wash is slippers and one of his stuffed toys.
Today will be the first day I won't be able to stay with him overnight. It's going to be hard, but I'm sure he will do just fine.
To prepare for the transplant he was given benedryl and demoral. So he probably will sleep through it. I've also been told that the preservative that they use in the blood product will cause a very foul smell in the room.
Spencer seems to be feeling better today. Just a mild tummy ache and some nausea. But he is in good spirits and hopefully everything will go well.
