Isaia - ** the what happend story**

Mommy2Isabella wrote: WOW!! What a couple of days we just had!!

Thank you all for the prayers and positive thoughts!!

** The Story **

I nursed him burped him and put him in his crib so I could go shower. ( On his back like they harp on you to do ). I shower, when I get out I heard the most terrifying noise. My baby was grunting and having SERIOUS trouble breathing. I RAN to his room which isn't that far from mine and immediately called 911. He was blue, limp, not responsive and his eyes were rolling back in his head. I picked him up and was patting him on the back. Thats when I noticed he has spit up. The ambulance got here shortly after that and we were OFF to the ER. They put oxygen on him and just really monitored him. He was pretty much lifeless until about 6pm monday night when we were transferred up to the peds unit. They had done chest xrays when we were down in the er and it showed that he had some fluid in his right lung. There concern at this point was punemonia<SP) They did find an infection when his blood work came back so they started IV antibiotics. We found out yesterday evening he did have punemonia. They also think he has reflux issues so they prescribed zantac for that and antibiotics so he can get better!!

Thats all for now. We are home and he is DOING GREAT. He is such a strong little boy. However I did inform him we are NOT to be in the hospital again until he is married and his wife is having a baby!! We will see how well that goes!!

lisar replied: I am so glad he is okay. That must have been so scary. Glad he is fine though. hug.gif hug.gif hug.gif

coasterqueen replied: OMG, I am glad he is ok. I know with Megan's reflux I swear I didn't sleep at night. I slept right by her because of that same fear. She spit up lots and even in her sleep and I was so scared she'd choke on her spit up, so that's when I started having her sleep propped up or on her side.

I prop Summer on her side at night because she spits up alot. So far she's never spit up at night but I'm always paranoid about it since she does it so much during the day.

tammyhopkins replied: Glad to hear everything is OK now. That is scary

My2Beauties replied: hug.gif OMG I would have been terrified, I am so glad to hear he is on the med. Poor little guy! What a nightmare for you I bet. You know I always kept my kids either on their side or in their carseat (mostly the carseat) for this very reason, I was scared to death they would spit up in their sleep and choke on it or something. hug.gif

MoonMama replied: I am so glad he is ok, how scary! hug.gif hug.gif

Sam & Abby's Mom replied: omg - this was always my dh's worst fear -- that the kids would spit up and choke on it.
How terrifying for you to find him like that BUT thank God you did! My heart goes out to you guys. Glad he's doing better. hug.gif

DillsMommy replied: Omg, all most the exact same thing happened when Peyton was about 2 weeks old. I fed him, burped him, laid him down so I could shower. Right as I was getting out he spit up EVERYWHERE. Some went up his nose and he could hardly breath so I panicked and immediately called 911. Turns out he was fine, they suctioned his nose and mouth and we didn't have to go to the ER, but it scared me to death. Even thinking about it today brings tears to my eyes. I've learned to always-always-always have a suction bulb close by. Anyways, I'm glad to hear Isaia is doing much better! hug.gif I know how terrifying that is. bawling.gif

~Roo'sMama~ replied: OMG Jessica how scary! ohmy.gif bawling.gif hug.gif I'm so glad he's ok now. hug.gif

I always put my babies on their side too because I was afraid of that happening. Sometimes I would put them on their backs because that's what you're supposed to do, but it never really made a whole lot of sense to me.

grapfruit replied: hug.gif So how's Little Mr Isaia doing now?

MommyToAshley replied: Oh gosh, how scary. But, I am so so so glad he is ok now. hug.gif hug.gif hug.gif

Ashley had reflux too and our ped told us to hold her up at a 45 degree angle for 45 minutes after every feeding. I'd just let her lay up on my sholder and sleep for a little while... or you can use and infant car seat as it's about the right angle. It really did help with the reflux.

Mommy2Isabella replied: Isaia is doing great. I have noticed that he is spitting up more and burping more, We went and got these wedge things to keep him proped up when he is sleeping.

Thanks for everyones thoughts and prayers!!

Danalana replied: I'm so glad he's doing good! Where did you buy the wedge thing? I'm thinking I might buy it too!

MommyToAshley replied:
Is it the wedge thing that fits under the crib matress? If so, just a little caution... those don't work for a lot of babies as they just end up at the other end of the matress. I hope it works for you though!
