Is your maiden name

Me? I waited ALLLLLL OF MY LIFE to get married and have a normal last name...you know one that I didn't have to spell everytime I said it or shutter everytime I heard someone else try to say it!!!
You know..Jones..Smith..Baker anything just normal...
I still remember the first night I met Rick, we were in the backseat of my friends car and my friend, who'd known him for a long time, refered to Rick by his last name only and I was like....."WHAT DID SHE JUST CALL YOU?" and he said, "My last name, I was cursed"
yup..and I married the fool..ahh he was too incredibly hot for me not to, bad last name or not!
mckayleesmom replied: my maiden name is worse
Its Buffington
Not only that...my name is/was Brianne Nichole Buffington, and it sounded snobby and everyone assumed I was one.
And I don't know how many times people refferred to me as Buffy....or I had a teacher that use to call me Buffy the Vampire Slayer ...His name was Mr. Lone...So I always called him a loner and asked if he made any friends yet.
~KARA~ replied: You would think it would be better but I still have to spell it for people. My maiden name can be a first name too!
amynicole21 replied: Mine are about even - both are pretty normal names.
darlingdiva1974 replied: My Maiden name is better...that's why I kept it when we got married. Although we gave our son both of our last names. Poor thing has an Irish-Portuguese last name.
3xsthefun replied: Mine are both pretty ok names, but sometimes had/have a wise arse that wants to make fun.
A&A'smommy replied: Well I hated my maiden name but I never had to spell it to anyone people look at me funny when I tell them my last name now...
dolfinrse replied: My maiden name was better. It was Sellick, like Tom Selleck. (No relation though). My married name is Betsch. It is pronounced like the "B" word.
Josie83 replied: Married name so much better . . . maiden name Italian!! My surname now is Irish and it is fine xx
TeagansMom609 replied: Funny because the women at work always tell me I only married Shawn for his last name. Its only 4 letters and as easy as they can get. I lucked out!! My maiden name was polish and hard to pronounce. I couldnt wait to give it up. But now I have a VERY irish sounding name, and im not a drop irish.
mom2tripp replied: Married name is def better--ITALIAN It's Luciano and I love it
gr33n3y3z replied: they couldnt spell my maiden name nor even say it right and they sure cant spell or say my married name either and thats only 4 letters
ediep replied: My Maiden name was Italian and very nice, but my married name is Jewish. DH's dad is Jewish. The funny thing is, my dad is a deacon in the Catholic church and I went to a catholic HS and College.
I always forget about the Jewish relatives and I always plan Jason's birthday party on one of the Jewish holiday and Dh's aunt and grandpa don't attend. DUH!
TANNER'S MOM replied: My name is is about the same..
My Maiden name did go with my name.. Melba McConnell...
With a name like Melba that was the only good part.
My name now is ok..not perfect w/ my name..but not bad!
JAYMESMOM replied: My maiden name is about equal to my married name. Both get mispronounced and misspelled even though they both are phonetical.
ammommy replied: Both are pretty boring. My (second) maiden name was a beer so that was fun in HS. Stepdad adopted me when I was 5 so I changed my name from a Ukranian/Russian one (which went over oh so well in hicksville USA in the '70s ). My married name is phonetic and people still screw it up.
3_call_me_mama replied: My maiden name was FAR worse thant my married name. Not only that people couldn't pronounce it, but the connotations that went with it (my birth father's family was a REAL bunch of winners! ) Soi was embarrased to have people know that I was even slightly related to them. I couldn't WAIT to get married to change my name. My last name now is a common one, not like Smith or Jones, but easy to pronounce adn fairly common.
MomToJade&Jordan replied: I would say that they are about equal. My Maiden name was long and very german sounding. My married name is shorter and should be easy to say, but people mess it up all the time.
aspenblue1 replied: My married name is much better than my maiden name. No one could ever pronounce it.
Maddie&EthansMom replied: My maiden name was easy and so is my married name. Except people misspell my married name. They are always wanting to put a 'T' on the end instead of a 'D'. I actually dropped my middle name and used my maiden name. Not hyphenated, though.
