Is this too cutesie? - names
mysweetpeasWil&Wes wrote: I was thinking about the name Wes (Wesley) for our little boy today and wondering if it's too cutesie to have both a Wil and a Wes. Both three letter names, both start with W. They'll only be 21 months apart. My husband and I are Rich and Rae, so it would be Rich, Rae, Wil and Wes!!!
Please be honest. And I hope I don't offend anyone who's kids have similar names. I have nothing against it, but I'm just wondering if this may be too much??
mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: BTW, I have a friend who's kids are Ashtyn, Avery and Aiden. And another friend with two boys who are Brison and Braedon. I get them mixed up all the time...do you find the same thing happening to you with similar names?
CantWait replied: I personally would probably get confused...I'll leave it at that. They're both nice names though.
TeagansMom609 replied: I like Wesley. I think the name Wess is cute! I say go for it!
PrairieMom replied: I love the name Wesley. Its one of the names i had picked out for The Boy, but DH shot it down. I say go for it. I like the two together.
moped replied: Well it is cutsie, but there is nothing wrong with it - LOVE the name Wesley!!!!
mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: My sister's girls are Giulia, Sofia and Antonia. They all start with different letters but end the same...I get them all mixed up!
Thanks for your honesty people...believe me, you won't hurt my feelings!
My3LilMonkeys replied: I like it! And if they think it's too cutesy as they get older, they could always go by their given names instead. William (I'm assuming at least - sorry if I'm wrong) and Wesley are both very distingushed names.
MyBlueEyedBabies replied: I love the name Wes and have a really good friend named Weston that goes by Wes. I also think it would be cute with Wil and can't immagine getting them anymore confused than I do with Katy and Matt...K&M are totally different but still occasionally call them by the wrong name
Hillbilly Housewife replied: Very cute. An aunt of mine has 3 kids - Justin, Julien (boy) and julianne (girl) and EVERYONE in my family has always asked her why she did that to her kids.
My kids all end in "ie" and I get them mixed up all the time, as does dh.
Maddie&EthansMom replied: I love it. It is a good, strong name, too. Wil is such a strong name that I was so hoping you would stick with something similar for this next boy. And, cutesie or not...it seems very fitting.
MyLuvBugs replied: That is a wonderful name!! I love the idea that saying your family names has a sort of rythmn to it. It's cute, but not overly cute.
holley79 replied: Well when we have a fmaily get together it goes like this: Harold (grandfather) Hayley (mom) Hiedi (Aunt) Holley (me of course)
So needless to say my great grandmother just points and tells that one to come here. My FIL calls my husband by his brother's name (Chris) and my BIL Shawn. Now how different are those names??
I think Wil and Wes are great names. Just blame it on age if you call them by the wrong name. My mom blamed it on anger. LOL
Freckled Momma replied: I see nothing wrong with it...plus I am partial to Wesley...my DS#2's name
My bro has 3 kids with all A's...Amanda, Allison and Andrew
My bil's family have all C names...Chris, Crystal, Colin and Cailee...ending with a C last name...
sooooo yours wouldn't be bad at all in my view
MommyToAshley replied: I like it!
I wouldn't worry about people confusing their names, that's going to happen no matter what you name him.
coasterqueen replied: Oh I love Wesley. I say go for it.
~Roo'sMama~ replied: It's not too cutesie I don't think - they might get mixed up a bit but that's not the end of the world. I do like Weston better than Wesley, but either one is cute!
ions_momma replied: I love the name Wesley!! I say go for it! I think the names Wil and Wes sound cute together!
ediep replied: I like the name
I don't think its too cutesy!
My sisters famile is Mike (BIL), Angela (SIS), Michael, Angeline
kimberley replied: i think its cute! i like the name Wes
C&K*s Mommie replied: I like it... I also like the spelling of Wess suggested by Kelly at the beginning.
My nephews are Austin Wayne & Waylon Shane~~ that gets confusing for Chris although they are fraternal twins!
Not too cutsie, at all. I say why not? What does your DH say about the name Wes??
luvbug00 replied: I like it.... I dated a wes once he was HOT!!!! ehhh sorry another ADD moment
3xsthefun replied: I like the name Wes. I don't think it is to cutesy.
MamaJAM replied: I see nothing wrong with it.
Then again - DH and I both have "J" names. When we got married we ended up with the same initials J.A.M. (I had been J.A.W. before that). I had already picked out a "J" name for any DD I might have (chose her name when I was 6-yrs-old). We decided to just go for it completely. All of our kids also have the initials J.A.M.! We often refer to ourselves as the "JAM family" or the "7 JAMs".
I don't see anything 'too cutesie' about having matching/rhyming names.
Sarah&Mackenzie replied: I like the name!!
TANNER'S MOM replied: Ok..
I have a Britt Justin Tiffany and Tanner.. And I never get it right. I can look right at Brittany and say Justin!
So go for it! I love it..
jcc64 replied: I love the name Wesley- considered it for my kids. When you're yelling at them, you might occasionally get a little tongue tied, but you'll get your point across..
DansMom replied: My friend named her son Wesley---I think it's adorable. I also know a Weston. Go for it!
kit_kats_mom replied: I like it. And when you are calling both of them....just call them "willis"! Get it...Will-Wes/Will-es/willis!
Boys r us replied: I like it, I do like someone's idea of the name Westin and going by wes also!
My brother's wife is from a family of "H" children...Heather, Holly, Heidi and Hope.
I think it's a neat idea! and if we have a girl her name is going to be Bella, so we'll have Braedon and Bella and of course Tanner too!!
MyLuvBugs replied: The Letter E is big in our family. My Dad and his siblings were all triple E's: Eldon Eugene Eunice Elaine Evelyn Eileen Erwin Earl Elnore Ellen
Then Dad thought it'd be nice for me to have that: Erika Elaine
Dh thinks it's weird and refuses to have our kids have double or triple initials.
~Roo'sMama~ replied: Lol when I was a kid and my mom got mad, she would go through the whole list - including our pets names - before she got to the right one.
fashionmumofboys replied: I love the name and the combination of it to.
It sure is CUTIESIE.
