Is it true fertility drops after the age of 27????

5littleladies replied: I did a little searching and read that it does start to drop around the age of 27, but I don't know how much or how quickly. I wouldn't worry-Women much older than you are having babies, besides, worrying can hinder getting pregnant.
2tikes_tootired replied: Thanks for the quick response, I was hoping someone else was still up to answer. I'm on over drive. DH brought home a bottle of wine to go with dinner. I'm one of those people who gets 'giddy', can't sleep if I drink anything. (That's after ONE glass). So now I get to stay up contemplating my fertility!
2tikes_tootired replied: OMG!!!!!!!!!!! I just realized, I'm gonna be 29 in a month!!!!!!!!
5littleladies replied: Lol-I've been staying up contemplating the chances that I'm pregnant or not. I guess I just have to wait and see. Don't drink too much.
kimberley replied: ok, i got pg twice just before and just after i turned 30 without trying. i don`t think you have to worry.
juliajaj replied: I agree that you definitely shouldn't worry. DH & I got married when I was 35 & he was 40. I was under the notion that I would have a tougher time conceiving since I was in the "35 & over" age bracket. DH & I wanted to start a family soon, so I went off the pill once we were married. Much to our delight, I became pregnant 3 weeks after going off the pill. During my 1st OB appointment, I told my doctor I thought it would be more difficult for me to get pregnant since I was in the 35 & over age group. He said that really isn't true. It varies woman to woman, but the majority of women's fertility doesn't start decreasing until they're 40. I guess DH & I proved this theory again when we got pregnant the 2nd time around only 2 weeks after going off the pill. I'm not an expert, but it sounds like you have plenty of time.

jem0622 replied: Well, I'll be 30 in June. I was told 30 is the number when you really start to see more sizeable changes in fertility. Interesting. I think that I'd honestly be more cognizant of my hormone levels and progesterone and all that jazz, but I wouldn't consider 27 or 30 to be a challenging age to get pregnant. If you have a great reproductive endicronologist then chances are you can successfully conceive and carry a pregnancy to term.

Elle replied: I'm 27, I got pregnant, and with twins! So maybe it decreases a little, but it's not like you won't ever be able to get pregnant again! I've read that the best age to have kids go from 20 years old to 35. And many women get pregnant even after that. So you're still on time *lol* Good luck!
coasterqueen replied: I was told 30, but that stinks too.. I'm going to be 30 in a few months
2tikes_tootired replied: Thanks everyone. I think I'm just sad because there are no more diapers or babas. No more sippy cups or cribs. It just makes me feel like I'm aging too fast, therefore so are my babies
Anyway, I guess I'll just I'll just keep "at it" with DH and hope I don't get sick of it! LOL It just loses it's appeal when you're timing 'it'.
A&A'smommy replied: I don't believe that my mom tried to get pg for ten years she was 28 when she got pg with me (I'm the oldest).
