kit_kats_mom replied: ok. you said honestly...and I consider you a friend but I've always thought the clips, bows and other accouterments look kind of silly on babies. I love the picture and think she is lovely no matter what. But to me it does take my attention away from her face.

Edited to add: I think that your in-laws may have been reacting to the fact that the clip is almost dead center of the picture and in high contrast to her hair, which causes (at least my) eyes to focus there first.

I know that hair accessories for babies is a big business, it's just not for me.

PrairieMom replied: I put barretts on her almost every day. I was just hoping that I wasn't dragging her around looking like an idiot! I tell people its to keep the hair out of her eyes.

mckayleesmom replied: Well....although I think it looks cute in her picture...I wouldn't put them on her all the time....mainly because to me its a choking hazard...what if she reaches up..snags it and puts it in her mouth?......I think it looks cute for the picture though.

I love the hair clip and would totally put on on my little girl (if I had one - we wear nothing but blue and had our first "real boy" haircut yesterday - at 7 months!!!. My DH is a NUT.) Maddie&EthansMom replied: Honestly, a cute little bow might have been better since that clip is kind of shiny it stands out more (reflects light.) Maybe that is what they meant? But I see nothing wrong with clips or bows on babies. I think that picture is precious.

I never was into frilly things with Kylie but with Megan I was. Not sure why. Maybe that's why Megan is much more girly than Kylie.

Anyways, Ryan hated all the big bows I put on Megan but I didn't care. I say phooey on the family. Do what you want.

punkeemunkee'smom replied: Oh PLEASE! Tay had bows on her head from the minute she was born...and I mean BIG bows,on those strechy bands. Most of the bows were as wide as her head when she was brand new She looked adorable and I loved my little bow head baby! (And she did not have any hair either) I say to anyone who doesn't like it!
