In response to Jen.What is the worse car ? - You have ever had
TANNER'S MOM wrote: Mine was a powder blue Ford Tempo..88 Model I think.
While driving down the road it would jump gears..and sometimes in reverse. It was scarry. Thank goodness it was a death trap...
I used to tease my DH and say it MIL eye shadow color!
coasterqueen replied: Oooh that's easy.
A white 1977 Chevy Malibu Classic. That thing was a boat. It was rusting so bad that if you touched the side of the car pieces of it would fall off. There were rust holes in the trunk, too. One time my girlfriends and I stashed some alcohol in there to hide it from my mom. We went to get it out later that night to drink it...it musta fallen out. I thought I put enough rags in the holes, but they musta fallen out too.
Also the ignition switch wouldn't lock so at drama practice people would steal my car to freak me out. You didn't even need a key to steal it.
It was sure a piece.
Edit: Oh and it had an 8 track in it
MyBlueEyedBabies replied: The worst was when I had to use my dads 1978 cadillac
When you pushed on the brake the doors would lock and unlock. the turn signal controlled all the lights in the car so the interior lights would flash. I can't remember what else it did but it kept my sister and I laughing so hard we always joked about needing diapers.
ammommy replied: Mine was an '84 (I think) Renault Alliance nicknamed the Death Mobile It would stall when you made left turns. In order to drive, you had to put the car in reverse and reverse was actually D2! How's that for French innovation. The radio I had put in was worth more than the stupid car!
jolene555 replied: It was simply called "the car from hell".
Twas a 1992 Plymoth Acclaim, handed down from my sister. I should say DIRECTLY handed down, as all through highschool (while I drove it) the liscence plate read JANL96. It had bad belts, that were not worth fixing, so everytime I braked the whole car shook and sounded like a thousand cats dying. The passenger seat had the ability to go forward or back, if desired, but had no ability to lock into place - needless to say not many people asked for rides home. The passenger side windshield washer fluid shot 6 feet to the right side of my car - sidewalkers beware!!! The ignition was so worn away that after I turned the car on, I could take the key out with the car still running. It shook violently when driving between 46 and 52 MPH. And finally, the spoiler/luggage rack was broken off on one side - and I'll be damned if I couldn't just rip the whole thing off. What could I do - I was at school and had to get home? I tied the frikin spoiler on with a shoestring so it wouldn't fly off on my way home - and that shoestring served it's purpose for 8 1/2 months before we finally laid "the car of death" to rest.
DVFlyer replied: 1998 Corvette. I will never buy another GM product due to the way I was treated.
But I'm not bitter
TANNER'S MOM replied: Ok....if that was all I had to whine about>>lolol
I can't believe you would complain about a vette....and 1998 model anthing!!!
I am teasing really I am
moped replied: The dynasty for gods sake!
kit_kats_mom replied: My worst car was kind of cool really...until I killed it. It was a 1971 (the year I was born) VW super beetle. Except for the paint job, it was pretty cool to this punk rock girl but then I went and ruined it. I tried to put in a stereo and rewired all kinds of stuff on accident...wipers and lights worked with the wrong buttons etc and the stupid stereo never did work. I finally left it on the side of the road after I caught the engine on fire.
ammommy replied: It's Herbie the Love Bug
redchief replied: Worst thing... The car I admitted to owning in the other thread wasn't my worst car!!!
I had a blue '89 Olds wagon with a converted GM diesel block. It sipped fuel, but it stank of diesel fumes and the head liner had a bad habit of falling in front of your face while you were driving.
Oh yea... The roof leaked too and the floor was always wet and musty.
mom21kid2dogs replied: My first brand new car was a 1982 Ford Escort~what an undulterated piece of crap it was, too! I had to have it towed at 220 miles as the catylitic converter caught fire !! It broke down 7 more times (including on our wedding day ) before I sold 1.5 years later. I took a hit on it but was so glad to be rid of it it was worthg paying to get rid of it!!
My experience was so bad that I'll never own anything Found On Road Dead again.
jcc64 replied: OMG, this thread is hysterical! Well, there was the 84 Toyota Tercel. We drove that thing till the brakes literally fell off the bottom of the car while we were driving down a steep mtn road. This is the same car that had the key perpetually stuck in the ignition, and when people broke in to steal things in it (which they frequently did when I was living in a less than desirable location in Brooklyn), they had the opportunity to simply drive off with the car and chose NOT to.
mckayleesmom replied: It was a 1990 dodge shadow convertable.
A&A'smommy replied: I (well actually it was my mils) had a 97 grand prix that was literally falling apart!
Boys r us replied: I will readily admit that I was a brat growing up..only girl..three brothers..need not say more.
the worst car that I had was a chevy Beretta, which actually looking back, was a fine car. But at the time, I HATED it b/c my dad bought it for me after I wrecked my first car, which was a brand new nissan 300Z! So..I deserved it but HATED it at the time!
moped replied: Ok, so the dynasty is by far the worst, because I have had all brand new cars in my life until now - so no wonder I hate it..........................we'll save it for Jack - HAR
ediep replied: I had a teal ford tempo. It wasn't my first car, but It was a heap of junk!!! There was something wrong with the gears, when I went from reverse to drive it would make a huge CLUNK!!! When I went over a bump the windshield wipers would go on.
ammommy replied: Smart crooks!!!
loveydad replied: Ugh i still own it.
It's a 89 ford tempo and it wouldnt' be so bad except it's not been used but every little bit and it's got ketchup dried on it from 3-4 years ago, the inside floor is moldy, it stinks to high heaven..ugh yucky!
