In our garage over the last year - we have had a snake, a horse, and a....

I cannot believe it, they're everywhere around here, but in my garage? This morning when we left for school Colt asked what kind of bird that was in the garage...we were running late and I said "Oh I don't know, probably just a sparrow". Macie and I were gone most of the day and when we came home used the back door, I didn't even think about it again. I just went to feed the dogs and imagine my suprise to see a roadrunner
I wish I had my camera, he was on a desk just hanging out. Until Bogie came to eat, good thing I have quick reflexes and got the door open
MoonMama replied: Whoa, kind of neat though. I've never seen one. The most out there thing we have had in ours is a deer.
Maddie&EthansMom replied: I think the first time I saw a roadrunner I was in NM. I will never forget it, either. My parents kept saying "There's a roadrunner" I was looking for a purple cartoon looking thing. Hush, I was really young.
luvmykids replied: I'd never seen one up close, they're a lot bigger than I thought
Calimama replied: I take back my previous comments about wanting to live in NM.
MommyToAshley replied: Well, I didn't know that there was such a thing as a Roadrunner... except for the purple cartoon looking thing.
kit_kats_mom replied: did he say "beep beep"?
that's cool
Ok, I'm in a weird mood. Stepping away from the computer before I am tempted to join in the Placenta dementedness. lol
MoonMama replied: My curiosity got the better of me and I had to go google them.
Roadrunner
Calimama replied: Oh it's LITTLE.. and it eats snakes. Might be my friend yet..
Anthony275 replied:
this??
MoonMama replied: Yeah I could use one around here in the summer.

A&A'smommy replied: wow did NOT know they were real, and I would have thought they were bigger than that
kit_kats_mom replied: aaah. so it's a cookoo bird? LOL How fitting
luvmykids replied:
For you, Dee Dee
The one in the pic is pretty small compared to the one in the garage, it was big enough to freak me out But I'm really glad to know they can catch rattlesnakes and eat rodents...I had no idea they were carnivores. Maybe I should have let him stay in the garage, make sure we don't have mice problems
eta: oops, didn't realize you posted a link Ally LOL
They're also our state bird. Beautiful, huh?
Calimama replied: How MUCH bigger..
MoonMama replied:
luvmykids replied: We were just trying to figure it out....he was on the desk and his head was about my shoulder height...so what, about a foot tall?
eta: I wasn't so much freaked out because of his size though, I was just freaked out to turn on the light and be confronted with him
luvmykids replied: Oh you are almost there
Calimama replied: Oh Monica... RUN.. or better yet MOVE...
luvmykids replied:
I had JUST had a talk with DH , about how am I going to handle all the weird stuff that goes on while he's gone...he said "What weird stuff?" I said "Like a snake in the garage" and then bam...opened the door, turned on the light, and said "Or roadrunners"
Seriously though, I am super happy to hear they eat snakes. My big fear is having a rattlesnake around when DH isn't here, now I feel like I have my own guardian roadrunner
Calimama replied: 2 words.. BB GUN.
luvmykids replied: He doesn't trust me with one
Calimama replied: My DH had a party once and a guy fell asleep (well passed out rather) and they all took turns shooting him with a BB gun.. like CLOSE range... it was horrible and hilarious all at the same time.
luvmykids replied:
MoonMama replied: Are you sure our husbands aren't related? Then again we totally have a blast shooting each other with air soft guns sometimes and having "pellet wars".
ETA: One of Alec's favorite shirts says "Its only funny until someone gets hurt...Then its freaking hilarious!". I swear its so the truth with men.
Calimama replied: I'm scared of being shot. DH told his friends that if they shot me then they would get his fist in their face. I've taught him well..
CantWait replied: It's a lot smaller then I thought it would be, guess I was expecting a purple cartoony thing as well. Super cute though. How cool is that. I need one for my shed, lots of mice in there
MoonMama replied: Well done girl! Alec is the same way but has know issue doing it himself. I was scared of them too, and I do wear like 4 layers of sweats when I play with the boys. And ours are just little hand gun type ones, so very little power. However when they pull out the big ones I'm so gone!
Calimama replied: I found a short video of it! I have a better one but it has curse words so I felt bad posting it. Oh and don't mind me egging them on..
Anthony275 replied: you are evil
Calimama replied: All I did was record! And laugh...
Anthony275 replied: yeah- evil
Calimama replied:
luvmykids replied: OMG Denise
We have those pellet guns too...I've never been hit, and the day I am they're gone!
MoonMama replied: You already know my feelings on the video!
Calimama replied: Tell Alec I said if he gets any ideas make sure he carries them out SITTING DOWN!!
Hillbilly Housewife replied: Yikes..... i couldn't imagine shooting someone even with a pellet gun... way too dangerous, imo...
Calimama replied: They are big boy Marine snipers, I'm sure they wouldn't put anyone in too much danger.
MoonMama replied: Eh if I can take em.
Hillbilly Housewife replied: I know THAT. I thought I was sarcastic enough. lol
Calimama replied: I'm too chicken.
Hillbilly Housewife replied: Can't be worse than paintball. Those suckers HUUUURT!!
Cece00 replied: I knew they existed but I have never even seen a pic of a real life one. Neat...although maybe not if it was in my garage
MoonMama replied: NEVER AGAIN!!!!
Calimama replied: Very true, I'll never play that again. Laser tag is more my speed.
Hillbilly Housewife replied: OOoooh YEAH! There's a wicked place about 20 minutes away from my house... well maybe 10 from my new house... but I LOVE going there! I went a fw weeks ago with some friends... I'm getting pretty good, too. I love to sneak.
MoonMama replied: I really SUCK as laser tag! Then again I haven't played in years.
MoonMama replied: Man Monica, I'm sorry we have made your post go so off topic here.
Calimama replied: Oh yeah.. sorry Monica!
Hillbilly Housewife replied:
I think that's my cue to go to bed.
luvmykids replied: Geez, threads NEVER go off topic around here!
