In Remembrance for the 9-11 tragedy!

jcc64 replied: I knew several people who died that day. This is a hard day, but every day in NY, the memories still haunt us. My heart especially aches for everyone directly affected by this, but it also aches for all of us, for having to live in a world where this will likely not be the last such tragedy.

redchief replied: All of us lost something that morning. Some of us lost something tangible, and for them the horror of what befell America and the free world that day is a daily physical reminder. Others of us lost something you can't touch or hold, but real nonetheless. The loss of innocence and security; the loss of a sure and certain future, are painful too. I remember and pray for those lost on September 11. I remember and pray for those who have been lost since then as we do what we must. I pray for all of our children, for they have been born into an uncertain and emotionally charged world. For those in America, I hope we all remember that we have to teach our children that it is important to remember, and that we have a responsibility to protect that which we hold dear. But we also have to teach that protecting the ideals of free society requires that we live them. Hate has no place alongside freedom, and so we cannot forget, but our anger must be tempered and with purpose.
