mckayleesmom wrote: I just found out my husbands insurance will pay for breast reductions if they cause back problems,,,which mine do,,plus I have scoliosis,,,,,Im going to bring it up with my doctor on my next visit,,,I have wanted to reduce these suckers for years....maybe I will finally get my chance...
¤Heather¤ replied: That is so great! I bet you will feel so relieved...
JUST one thing...can I have some of yours?? I will gladly take some!! LOL
Hope your doc gives you some great news!!! Good luck.
mckayleesmom replied: lol...sure,,,I can probably donate them to a couple people
MommyToAshley replied: That's great news! Let us know how it goes with the doc!
dolfinrse replied: I had one done 3 years ago in May, let me tell you it was the best thing that I could have done. My insurance paid for the majority of it also. We were not sure if I should have waited until after I had kids, we asked the dr. he told me that I would be very uncomfortable if I waited that long, so I just went for it. Good Luck to you. Be sure to keep us posted.
~CrazieMama~ replied: Hey, send me some booby too ... I could use some.
mckayleesmom replied: I can't wait till they are gone,,,,Its not so bad now cause I have put on wieght, but up until I was a freshman in hight school, I was 105lbs with a size 48D chest,,,,I think I probably have 40lbs worth of breasts,,,lol
mckayleesmom replied: Also if you don't mind me asking, what kind did you have and how was the recovery?
supermom replied: That would be great - hope it all works out for you because I know that they can cause problems and such, and I would imagine that you would feel much better.
Kirstenmumof3 replied: WOW that's awesome! I wish I could have that done! My back is always sore lugging these things around!
MomToMany replied: Hooray for you !! Wish I could join you !! I've got way too much here, too. It would be nice to "lighten up" a bit!!
Congratulations!!
Schnoogly replied: Just a note--if you are planning on having more kids and you want to BF you might wait on the reduction...since it is hard to BF afterwards (sometimes impossible)
Steph
CantWait replied: That's great news, hope your doctor can help you out with that. P.S. I'll take the some of the left overs LOL
mckayleesmom replied: I have done some research and there are different kinds now that don't affect the milk duct at all.
Schnoogly replied: Really? I didn't know that--that's awesome! I don't think my insurance would cover--they would want me to lose weight first to see if that reduces it...
Steph
mckayleesmom replied: The ones that affect your milk supply are the ones where they cut too close to the milk duct,,,but now they have new ways of doing it...theres one where they go under the breast and remove tissue and the scar can't be seen that way either. I was going to wait till we were done with kids to do it cause of the milk issue,,,,but then I read that,,and Im too unhappy with then to let them stick around.
dolfinrse replied: I was a 40 DD, my dr. reduced them to a 36C. They came out perfect, he also did the breast lift, so they wouldn't still sag. The dr. told me that he took about 5 lbs. off each side. The recovery was not bad at all, I had my surgery on May 11, and returned to work the week of July 4th. At first I was not able to lift anything over 10 lbs, but things went really good. My scars are a U shape under each breast, and an incision around each nipple. You can't even tell that I have scars around my nipples and the ones under each breast are barely noticeable.
Just for the record, if I wanted to I would have been able to BF. I leaked from the time I was 6 months pg until several weeks after Zachary was born. And believe me, it was not just a little leaking. They leave the milk duct attached to the breast tissue. Just make sure that which ever dr. you choose is willing to do that and not sever it completely.

mckayleesmom replied: I will , and I was also going to look into the sagging thing too,,mine don't really sag, but they are shaped wierd, more oval then round and it makes them look like they are sagging.,,I want them brought back up a little to make them look more round, I will pay extra if i have to.
dolfinrse replied: Most drs that I went to included it all in the price. They have to take pics to send to the insurance company. I never really noticed it, but the dr. did notice that I actually had indents on my shoulders from where my bra straps were carrying the weight.
I had people asking if I would ever do it again if I had to. My answer is that I would do it in a heartbeat and not even think twice. When I was trying to decide, I went back and forth several times, but I figured no pain could be worse than carrying around all that extra weight and in the long run it would be for the best. Boy, was I right.
Make sure you research the surgeon really well too. They should be board certified and there is website (in NJ anyway) where you can look up to see if they have ever had any complaints filed against them. You can also call the board of plastic surgeons and see if they can recommend someone for you.
mckayleesmom replied: I do have the indents...and thanks for the advice
Shooter replied: Well, some of you are in luck!! I just so happen to offer a service of helping you carry these things around.
heh heh
I know, I know......MEN!!!
mckayleesmom replied: Ya thats what my husband says........lol.....Im really suprised hes being supportive. But then again he will only let me remove so much.
