Im so exhausted....and frustrated! - Sharon needs prayers right now!

My wife has been in the hospital all night and is still there. She was readmitted early this morning. Around the evening she was waking up to really bad pains in her back and lower abdomen. She felt like she had to make a bowel movement. So I helped into the washroom and she collapsed in alot of pain! So I rushed her to the ER and she was immediately looked at. The hospital called Sharon's OB/GYN and he rushed over to see her. She had an ultrasound done and it does not look good. The same baby that had a bad heart rate was in distress and not doing good at all. They admitted her and kept her on a fetal monitor. The OB/GYN came in to talk to us and he told us the awful news... The baby's have what you call TTTS(twin-twin transfusion syndrom) That is where the smaller twin(the donor) is not getting enough blood and the bog twin(the recepient) is overloaded with alot of blood. So the smaller twin has lack of amniotic fluid and the bigger twin has excessive amniotic fluid. Baby a is the smaller twin and baby b is the bigger twin.

Sharon has to have a procedure done to help the twins. It is called SLPCV. They have to seperate the circulation between babies by using laser energy to seal of vessels connecting the 2. Then the baby's no longer will share the same blood. Sharon has to be put under general sedation and aneststic. Now here is the bad news to this whole ordeal! Occasionally one of the babies dies after the laser treatment. Or because they were unhealthy due to the TTTS or other conditions because of inadequate placenta share. And death of one or both of the babies can happen also anytime after the treatment until the delivery due date.

We are so scared right now. So Sharon is having the procedure done tomorrow and will have to stay in the hospital for a couple days after so they can keep an eye on the babys. And she will have to have lots of ultrasounds to update and check on the development and health of the babies.

Can our lives get any more horrible.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My2Carebears replied: aww you and those babies are in my prayers!!! I had a friend who just had twins with this same problem only it wasn't as extreme. I so Hope the procdure goes well!!
