I'm so excited... - It's state fair time

I have the best memories of the fair as a kid, it always falls on my birthday and it was a big deal to go...This will be the kids' first year going and I can't wait!!!! It's a big deal around here, goes on for 2 weeks with PRCA rodeos, all the 4H stuff, really yummy FOOD, etc. Did I mention the food
C&K*s Mommie replied: mmmmmm......yum yum yum fair food
Hope the kids enjoy their first outing at the fair, and you guys can create even more memories together!
BTW when is your b-day??
punkeemunkee'smom replied: Oh that sounds too fun! Our county fairs are all about to start up in September too! I love it because it means cooler weather will be here soon and we almost always have one really cool night during the fair weeks! When is your B-day? Happy Happy Day! (a little early!)
BTW~I am right there with you on the whole fair food thing Even a hot dog is yummy from the fair!
luvmykids replied: I swear I eat about a hundred pounds of fair food, the hot dogs, corn dogs, giant turkey legs, candy apples, funnel cakes, lamb skewers, giant pickles, and to top it off they have Mexican Village and Indian Village with to-die-for-food, and this church that sells every kind of pie you could imagine. No one ever wants to go with me because all I want to do is EAT, EAT, EAT!!!!
My bday is Sept 22, Thank you both for asking but I didn't mean to solicit Happy Bdays!
Jackie012007 replied: YAY FAIR TIME! Ours is going on right now and I'm going tomorrow with my mom and dad to go see JAMES TAYLOR... I'm soooo excited! And yes, it's all about the food for me too, ESPECIALLY this year
3xsthefun replied: How fun!
Our state fair was here about 2 weeks ago. My mom and I went and saw Carrie Underwood and Rio Grand, I thought Carrie put on a pretty good show.
Maddie&EthansMom replied: Our State Fair is right around the corner, too. Have a great time!
JP&KJMOM replied: Yummy giant turkey legs, my favorite.
luvbug00 replied: we don't have them but feel free to mail me some funnel cakes )
holley79 replied: I can't wait till Annika is old enough to go to the fair. I like the one in SR county better then then one in our county because it's smaller and more 4H stuff.
5littleladies replied: Our state fair is going on right now too, but I don't think we will make it up this year. Bummer. BUT our town festival starts next week and that will do just fine for now. I'm so excited to eat cheese curds!!
mom2my2cuties replied: I miss the Texas State Fair...
I actually tried the fried Nutter Butters & Oreo cookies last year and the Fried Snickers...However I skipped the twinkies. That just sounded too gross.
liked the Nutter Butters...crunchy with this soft peanut butter center...The Oreos were too greasy but I hate oreos anyway. The Snickers tasted ok, BUT I am not into chocolate.
luvmykids replied: Ooooohh, that just reminded me of the deep fried cheese stuffed jalepenos
mom2my2cuties replied: oh yummy! My husband makes those for me all the time. He cuts open the top of them, somehow takes out all the seeds and viens, then fills them with cheese and then puts the top back on, batters and deep fries it. (Also has a cheese & chicken stuffed one)
DillsMommy replied: I saw Carrie Underwood at our state fair a couple weekends ago, she opened for Brad Paisley. GREAT show, I loved it! She's an awesome preformer. Brad puts on a really good show too!!
