I'm so MAD at myself!!!
CAMSMOM1 wrote: Well I was suppossed to start losing weight! My sister & I were going to work out together. That lasted a whole week! She just put her house on the market, and is packing up her stuff, doing Open Houses, and searching for a new home...so she doesn't have the time. And by the time Justin gets home, it's to dark to go on a bike ride together like we planned to do.
And I'm stressing, cause my best friends wedding is May 6th, and I'm a bridesmaid. And I'm hoping I can fit in my dress! And all of our old high school friends are going to be there. I used to be in shape and have a good figure in high school, so they are all going to be SHOCKED to see how much weight I've put on. (You know how everyone stresses before a high school reunion, cause they want to look their best? That's kinda how this feels.) And I'm going to be in her wedding photo album forever, and I'm going to hate the pictures!
Justin & I had a talk about my weight. And it's effected our sex life. (he has also put on some weight) And even though he stills is "attracted" to me, things have changed...for both of us....in that department.
So I'm just kicking myself right now, thinking why did I let myself get this big? And why didn't I stick to exercising and dieting like I started to do last month? I know it's pretty much to late to lose any significant amount of weight for the wedding...but now my goal is summer. I want to be able to at least wear a pair of shorts and be comfortable in it.
Sorry for the vent. I'm just giving myself a good kick in the bootie for being a lazy procrastinator!
mckayleesmom replied: Im in the same boat as you....I dread my scale telling me I still weigh 150lbs....
luvmykids replied: I know how bad you wanted to lose weight for the wedding, but don't let that be the end of it, like since you missed the boat on that one, oh well, KWIM? Get in with the ladies here who are doing it, I never have the motivation either and I'm an instant gratification girl, if I don't see or feel results I don't want to stick with it. But these girls here are so supportive of each other, maybe you can just take it week by week, set small goals, like drinking more water, limiting junk, just for a week and maybe you'd see something to keep you going.
I'm not much help, I just know you can do it! And I procrastinate in other areas and know how much that can bother you about yourself.
Hang in there, and do it for you
C&K*s Mommie replied: what about during the day with Cameron? Nothing like getting some fresh air with your kiddos. I love it myself, but with C coming off of her sickness we have not been able to get outside much other than this past wk/end. Maybe we will get out tomorrow.
Do you have a college nearby that has a track where you can push Cameron, or have him ride his bike, or pull him in a wagon? Maybe you guys can play at a park, meet up with some moms that have children his age and go from there.
CAMSMOM1 replied:
If I weighed 150 pounds, I'd run out and buy a bikini I'd be so excited! That is actually my goal weight.
1lilpeanut2love replied: Oh I sorry to hear this. It is so hard to lose weight. I need to lose about 70 pounds and I haven't been able to do it. My weight has been an issue with me since I was pregnant. When I'm stressed- alot all I want to do is eat. My weight has affected my life too. Hoping this get better for you.
kayla's mama replied: I stepped on the scale for the first time today since having Kayla. Jason about had to pick me up off the floor!!!! I have never weighed this much before
The one diet that worked well for me was the low carb diet and also cutting all soda!!!!
Hope you can get back into the swing of things.
No matter your size you are going to look beautiful in your bridesmaid dress!!!!!
1lilpeanut2love replied: OMG I wished I weighed 150lbs too! I would feel better about myself!!
C&K*s Mommie replied: you can do it, Ann. I am like Monica, I need instant results or I falter and fall away for awhile.
You can do it!
CAMSMOM1 replied:
Good point Nicole! I have a brand new mountain bike Justin bought me 2 years ago for Christmas and a new trailer for Cam that I can hook on the back of the bike. I took him in it a few times, and he loved it. It's in the rafters. I think I need to get Justin to take that down for me. That is a great idea. And something fun Cam & I can do together.
And another good point Brandi. I NEED to cut out soda & sweets. I have a 40 once Coke Slurpee from 7-11 EVERYDAY! Talk about calories!!!
But one of my biggest draw backs is cooking. I don't know how to cook "healthy" meals. We eat a lot of red meat, potatoes/pasta, ect. I hate eating healthy foods. But I did like going on Weight Watchers. I could still eat the food I want, but just limit myself. Maybe it's time to go back to WW meetings. That way I can get some support and tips along the way.
luvbug00 replied: now I would say this post was me like 2 weeks ago. I've just given up trying to be 97lbs again. I had a baby ( although it was 5 years ago) and I've come to except my body will NEVER be the same. look at my siggy that's when Brad was all of 140 he now is 200 somthing or other. at first I was totaly shocked and slightly not attracted to him but then I found I like him like this. it's a deceant wieght for his hight and he's just cuter. Brad saw me tiny tiney and now I'm 114lbs. which sound small to alot of people (and some people even laugh at me when I say that, even though I don't find it the least bit funny..) but For me it's fat.
In the end I think you are a BEAUTIFUL woman and your personality is soo great i wish I had that too. Your former classmates will be jelous of your humor, witt, beauty, and Your adorable son!!
mckayleesmom replied: You wouldn't want a bikini in this body.....150lbs, but Im also only 5ft1...
Kaitlin'smom replied: no sence in being mad join in for weekly weigh in. A few of us are on WW, I just re-commited to it.
I do understand your frustration BTDT just take it one day at a time and do what you can.
ilovemybaby replied: I'm sorry you are feeling that way. I totally understand. I had to watch what I ate when we were getting married (being pregnant didn't help that LOL) so I'd still fit my dress. In the end we had to buy a new dress! We also have the same problems with our sex life because of my weight. And Paul is getting a tummy now. *sigh* However, you still have another month and 2 plus weeks to go! You can still lose some weight! Keep trying on the dress every now and then. Can it be let out at all?
CantWait replied: You still have a good six weeks left. That's a lot of time. Get back up on that horse and ride. I can totally relate, but you're going to look great no matter what.
jem0622 replied: You can do this! Someone mentioned the special K diet. What if you had a bowl for bkfast, a bowl for lunch, and a sensible meal? And walk at a brisk pace for 30 minutes each day? Just some food for thought. Also, drink nothing but water.
jacobsmama replied: YOu can do it ann!! I'm working on it too.
My3LilMonkeys replied: There are a lot of us on here who are working on losing weight - join in! There is a lot of great support here, as well as on other websites.
IMO, you should start NOW. Put down that Coke Slurpee, get up from the computer and exercise! J/K but I think you KWIM. If you keep putting it off you'll never get there.
And if you start now with a healthy diet and exercise, you've got 6 weeks. That could be plenty of time to lose some fat, tone up some muscles and look fabulous for that wedding!
mom21kid2dogs replied: Personally, I've set myself up for failure in the diet department for the last several years. This Lent, I decided to make one, just one, lifestyle change. I no longer eat another bite after I leave the supper table. That one thing has resulted in my being able to wear 3 pairs of jeans I couldn't hope to wear on March 1st. No watching what I eat, no jumping on the scale every 5 minutes (infact I haven't stepped on a scale in months), no extra exercise. Maybe focusing on changing one behavior will be the jump start you need!
luvmykids replied: Another thing, don't you lose weight faster at the beginning? So you could still lose enough right off the bat to feel good in the dress AND keep you going after the wedding, KWIM?
CAMSMOM1 replied:
I could quote all of the replies, they are wonderful! I've gotten so much inspiration from this post. I started today, but drinking water. I didn't buy a Slurpee, I can't remember the last time I haven't had one. And I had so much energy today. I don't know if thats from the water, or lack of extra sugar...but I actually was bouncing off the walls. And I played 5 games of Crossfire (it's like dodgeball, but more intense) with the kids at work, and I worked up a good sweat. And I got home, and instead of jumping on the computer, I was busy cleaning the house. So I just wanted to thank you all for being my cheerleaders!!! It really helped. And I'm going to join the health & fitness board on here. I'm ready to do this! Finally!
na81 replied: I could totally relate to your post about a month ago. My daughter is almost 16 months old, but after she was born I only had 15 pounds to lose, but once winter hit this year I really packed on the pounds. I tried a couple of diets and I would lose 5 lbs and feel really good, but then we would go out to eat and that would be the end of that. About a month ago I got the flu and lost like 7lbs in 2 days and I thought "Awesome, this will be my motivator to continue" Well, it didn't work. Now I found out that I am like 11 weeks pregnant- so I cant lose any weight!!!! After this baby I will be like a hippo and trying to do it all over again!!!! Anyways, sorry I kinda vented instead of trying to give advice. Even if you dont lose the weight you want, you will look fabulous in the dress! Besides, you have a handsome little boy to show for it!! Good luck on the weight loss, I will be cheering for you! Sounds like you are already on your way- you gave up the Slurpee!! Have fun at the wedding!!!
