I'm running on 2 hours of sleep - Hanna is still real sick
My2Beauties wrote: My poor baby I bet only slept a total of 2 hours last night, even in the bed with us. She is still running a fever and still congested. I hate that these viral infections you have to let them run their course, I hate that there isn't anything they can do for her pain besides Motrin and Tylenol which aren't helping much She cried so hard that she made herself throw up 4 times last night It got everywhere!!! I had to change her clothes 3 times and then when I take her clothes off she screams because she gets the chills and she is cold. She'll be sweating profusely but still getting chills I don't know what to do! I didn't want to come to work today but I'm still in my 90-day Probation period and I've already had one sick day from when I was sick I cried when I dropped her off at DF's grandma's house this morning, I cried so hard because she looked so pitiful when I left her and she was crying when I gave her to Brian's grandma because she has been clinging to me since last night. DF's aunt comes over his grandma's house during the day and smokes sometimes and it p's me off so bad that she does that while Hanna is around and I've said things but they won't quit, I told his grandma (I actually pleaded with her) to please not let anyone smoke around her as sick as she is, it's not gonna help her!!! I could turn this into a whole different issue with the smoking thing Has any of your little ones suffered from a viral infection that you had to let run it's course? If so, how long were they sick? I can't take too much more of this, I'm going bonkers with no sleep
amynicole21 replied: Poor Hanna!! Most of Sophia's colds actually involve ear infections, so she gets on antibiotics and improves immediately. I hate when they are sick, though! I hope she feels better very soon.
Kirstenmumof3 replied: Poor Baby and Mommy! I hope she feels better soon!
ediep replied: Jason has had a few viral infections, the worst being the rotavirus last Spring. He was hostitalized for 3 days because he was borderline dehydrated. He had to get an IV. I was hysterical! Jason had diarreah, vomiting, high fever and the only things we could do for him was give him motrin and make sure he was drinking pedialyte.
Anyway, Good Luck!!! I sure hope she is better soon!!!
kit_kats_mom replied: K had the rotavirus last...Dec I think...It was awful. I think she was barfing for 3 days & she had diarreah for about 5 days...she was sick almost an enitre week. There is nothing worse than having a sick baby. Not only are you sleep deprived but then you have the "night time worries" that seem to peak in the middle of the night when you are suddenly convinced that your baby will die from the fever etc. It's so hard to watch your baby suffer through it too. I'm sorry she's sick and i hope it runs it's course. And BOOOOO to your aunt who smokes around Hannah.
My2Beauties replied: Yes BOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, I better not smell smoke on her today or I think I will throw a temper tantrum and show my butt for the first time in front of DF's family!
coasterqueen replied: Kylie had the flu twice and it went away within a few days or so.
((HUGS)) for Hanna. I hope she gets feeling better real soon.
BTW, when it comes to the smoking....I would NOT take my child back. That is ONE thing I'm a stickler on and I won't back down on. I won't even take Kylie to restaurants if they don't have a non-smoking section.
A&A'smommy replied: Poor baby girl that breaks my heart! I hate HATE HATE it when they get sick especially like that it just makes me want to cry and cry! ((((BIG HUGS)))) and LOTS of get well vibes!!!
DansMom replied: Hang in there---it sounds like, hopefully, last night was the worst night. It should get a bit easier from this point on. Daniel's viral infections typically last a few days, but there is only one really, really bad night. Daniel's done the coughing until he barfs too---I hate that. The congestion and mucus can be so hard for them to get out any other way. Do try a humidifier in the room if you have one, a warm bath, some mentholated lotion on her chest, and use the little blue suction thing to clear out as much congestion as you can. So sorry this is going on with Hanna---it's so hard to watch them suffer, and you must be exhausted!!
My2Beauties replied: Thanks for the HUGS AND VIBES you guys sent. Hopefully last night was the worst of it. I know this may be TMI but she pooped twice finally today (I just talked to grandma) and I know that helps get the infection out of their system. She has been gassy since last night and acted like she couldn't poop and I'm glad to hear that she did! I know TMI guys...sorry Grandma said she has been sleeping a lot today and that she did get up for a little bit and cruise around some furniture (which is good because this last night and this morning she wouldn't even let me put her down)!! I think I am the one that actually got her sick, I was feeling bad for a few days last week myself and had the same thing (without the fever) and mine only lasted 3 days. My second day was the worst too! We'll see! I'll keep updates!
kimberley replied: glad she is doing a little better. fingers crossed for a fast recovery. antibiotics were the trick for us with viral infections. they usually ran for about 4 days so hopefully you are almost at the end. keep us posted.
Lollie replied: Poor baby...I'm glad that shes a little better today
My little brother has viral infections quite frequently concerning his chest but he has to be hospitalized cos he's immune to many mediations...Teh docs never let his viral infections just run their course with him cos of this...He has to be put on introvenous medicines....
Pls keep us updated on Hanna....
Sending tons of hugs for both Hanna and mommie!!
Kaitlin'smom replied: sounds like she is getting better, sorry you can't bere there to take care of her. I hate when they are sick and it seems like you cant do anything for them. Hope she and you get more sleep tonight......oh one thing if she does sleep to much during the day she might not want to sleep at night, maybe ask grandma if she can keep her up so she will sleep for you tongiht
Maddie&EthansMom replied: Awwww! Poor Hannah! Give her a big hug from me and Ethan. I hope you are able to get some rest tonight. It is hard going to work with a sick baby.
My2Beauties replied: Grandma said that she is eating her pedialyte freezer pops and that she actually got off her lap and played earlier! Which is really good! I'll keep you guys updated on how she does tonight when I get here tomorrow..let's hope I've gotten some sleep!
Josie83 replied: I'm so sorry that you're so tired LeaAnn, it sounds like you're having a really hard time of it at the moment. And poor Hanna! I agree with the others, your baby being sick is the WORST thing because you just feel so helpless! I hope she feels better soon and that you get some rest xx
