I'm really worried about Megan

coasterqueen wrote: Dh found a knot on Megan's neck several days ago. He mentioned it to me and asked me to look at it, but for some reason I didn't. Today he demanded that I look at it and I'm scared now sad.gif It's a very weird knot on the back of her neck near her spine bawling.gif . Dh, of course, is remaining calm, but I'm not. All the terrible thoughts are running through my mind. wacko.gif I called her doc and we are scheduled to see him next Tuesday. We were going to see him next month to discuss seeing an ENT per her occupational therapist's request, but I guess we'll do both next Tuesday. I really hope it's nothing. sad.gif But why would a little kid have a knot like that on the back of their neck????? unsure.gif bawling.gif

:.Mrs_Mommy.: replied: Oh wow, I hope its nothing. Or at least something not serious.

Thoughts are with you and yours!

lisar replied: It could be a cyst or a fatty tumor. I have 2 fatty tumors on my arm and all they can do is cut them out. Fatty tumors arent cancer or anything. And Lexi had a cyct remeved from her left eyebrow at 5months old. Dont freak just yet. hug.gif hug.gif hug.gif hug.gif

PrairieMom replied: hug.gif KUP.

Kaitlin'smom replied: hug.gif I hope its nothing and even goes away before the appointment hug.gif

booey2 replied: Hugs and calming vibes heading your way. As previous posters have said it could just be fat deposits and they are harmless. Hugs, KUP.

boyohboyohboy replied: karen,i had a child i babysit for that had a calcium formation that just grew on a bone...the dr said that with a childs bones growing so fast it was just an over growth of cells that caused the formation. it caused her no pain, and it did stop growing..they didnt have to do anything with it.
i hope and pray its the same for megan.

mommy~to~a~bunch replied: hug.gif hug.gif hug.gif Hope it's nothing to worry about!

mckayleesmom replied: sounds like a cyst

3xsthefun replied: hug.gif hug.gif I hope it is nothing. hug.gif

MommyToAshley replied: Is it in a location where her lymph nodes are. We have a lot more lymph nodes than what most people realize. If so, it could jsut be enlarged due to her ear infection?

I know it must be hard, but try to remain calm until you know more. hug.gif

I'll keep you all in my prayers. Please let us know when you find out anything.

Maddie&EthansMom replied: I'm pretty sure they are glands/lymph nodes. Ethan has had them since he was born and I freaked when I first noticed them. They get larger when he has a cold. I hope this helps ease your mind some. hug.gif Let us know what you find out.

Calimama replied: hug.gif hug.gif hug.gif hug.gif

luvmykids replied: I hope it turns out to be nothing hug.gif hug.gif

lovemy2 replied: I was thinking lymph node too - hang in there Karen - can't you get in to see the Ped before Tuesday - hugs that is nothing major hug.gif hug.gif

mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: I know it's hard not to worry, but sounds like a lymph node. I have no idea if it's possible to have one where you describe, but since you said knot, that's what it sounds like to me. Or cyst. Wil had one on his neck behind his ear from birth. Has gone down now, but I was seriously freaked until he was about two. They fill up, then go down. Come back when you are sick or under stress. Please KUP...You guys are in my thoughts. hug.gif

Nina J replied: hug.gif Try not to stress, it is most likely nothing. I know someone who was a teenager, but they had a knot on there neck too. It was just a harmless cyst. hug.gif

CantWait replied: hug.gif hug.gif KUP.

luvbug00 replied: hug.gif i have one too. on my neck right by my spine. No idea what it is but i've had it as long as i can remember. noone noticed it until i was arround this age but we never checked into it.

coasterqueen replied: Thanks everyone. wub.gif

I sure hope you are all right. I did try to get her in before Tuesday, but Monday is a holiday and the only person I could get before Tuesday was the nurse practioner and I feel more comfortable seeing the doc for something like this than the NP.
