I'm officially NOT a w&p momma anymore
coasterqueen wrote: Friday was my last day to pump at work for my sweet booga. I'm very emotional today for some reason. I was ready to stop pumping after having w&p'ed for 19 months, but I'm sad about it too. I also feel guilt. I feel like as long as I *can* work and pump for her, I should. She's officially on hormone/antibiotic free whole milk at the sitter now and nurses when I'm with her.
I'm gonna cry!
Oh well, it won't be long and I'll hopefully be pg again and I'll be back to w&p with my old trusty pump.
I feel so naked not being able to say W&P momma, lol. I guess I'll have to change my siggy to breastfeeding momma instead. ROFL.
MommyToAshley replied: Aweee, such a bitter-sweet moment. Here's some hugs I really admire you for pumping all those months, what a dedicated Mom! You don't need to feel guilty, you have given your DD the best start in life.
jen replied: BIG BIG HUGS SWEETIE!!!! You went above and beyond what most women choose to do and you should be so proud! I am sorry you are upset but you are right, before long you will be back with your trusty pump for your next baby!!!
MomToMany replied: Lots of ((((HUGS)))) Karen! Not many moms would make it that long!! You're a GREAT Mommy!!
Your booga has gotten the best start in life , and it was all from you!!! And, you're still BFing her, and that's important too!
Great job, Karen!!
kimberley replied: aww i agree with M2A, it is very bittersweet. (((hugs))) know that you have done such a selfless wonderful thing for Kylie and for longer than most people would. i applaud you for coming this far!! just another month and baby #2 will be in the works
ediep replied: awwwwww big hugs to you!! I admire you for pumping all those months!
aspenblue1 replied: Aww I agree with M2A also. It was so hard when Isabella weaned hersef. ((BIG HUGS))
CantWait replied: ITA with everyone else. WTG on W&P for so long. Hugs
A&A'smommy replied: awww wtg for doing it for so long! (((HUGS)))
amynicole21 replied: Oh Karen, I know how much it meant to you and I can totally relate. It was so weird not to trudge off to my trusty pumping "closet" every day at 10 and 2 I so admire you for keeping up with it for so long - that is true dedication the likes of which very few women ever exhibit. Good for you!!
Jamison'smama replied: Congrats on a new milestone--big hugs though, it is tough --it has become such a part of who you are. You did a fantastic job, Kylie will be so proud!
Mom2Boyz replied: Awwww WTG for doing it as long as you did!!! Most women wouldn't put that kind of dedication into it.
Maddie&EthansMom replied: WOW! 19 mos!! I knew all along you did this for Kylie but when you put it that way it just brings a whole new meaning to the loyalty, devotion and love you have for her. Talk about dedication!! You are a wonderful mother and you have done wonderful things for her.
DansMom replied: I'm getting ready to "hang up the horns" myself, and I can't say I'll miss the actual process, but I will definitely feel a loss of sorts. It's been hard to take that final step away from pumping though. I feel guilty every time I think of giving it up, even though I look forward to it also.
Also, I won't have any excuse now to shut my office door and take my shirt off for a while. I think I'll miss that secret feeling of liberation from the drudgery of office work!!!
coasterqueen replied: ROFLMAO!!
coasterqueen replied: Thank you everyone for all your kind words. I'm tearing up just reading them, . I'm super emotional right now and I don't know why, lol. I survived yesterday, but I feel like a part of me is missing. Pumping gave me a connection to Kylie while at work. I feel like I've lost that now. :-(
I'm sure those feelings will fade eventually and what makes me know that it's okay is that I gave her an awesome start to life and still am by continuing to nurse her.
You all are the best.
Kirstenmumof3 replied: That's awesome that you were able to pump for this long! You gave her a great start and you should be very proud! Sorry this special time has come to an end!
two2luv replied: Be proud! You are such a wonderful mom - you've done a fantastic job. I admire you for your dedication to your child. WTG!
jem0622 replied: You did a fabulous job, so celebrate!
coasterqueen replied: Thanks Julie! I did kinda celebrate, lol. I went out and bought myself a regular bra. It feels so weird to wear a regular bra. Course I'm only wearing it at work since I still wear a nursing bra when with Kylie, but it's kinda nice.
Kaitlin'smom replied: awww you did a great thing, I wish Kaitlin would have nursed for a bit longer but it was her choise....its sad but you did such a great thing and before you know it you will be doing it all over again
I agree about the bra thing I bought a few new ones after and it was strange (nice but strange)
congrats for all the pumping you did for you little one
