I'm a little nervous... - Selling on EBAY
PrairieMom wrote: Well, I finally took the plunge and listed a few of my bows on EBAY. I am really nervous about it. I will be kinda sad if they don't sell, but at the same time, I don't really expect them too. I am such a freak. It doesn't take much to freak me out. At any rate, I just did a few to test out the waters. I have no idea how to make a cool looking/ fun listing, so they are pretty plain looking. Oh well. Maybe I will get better with pratice. Anyway, here it is...

Anyone have any selling advice for me, since I am obviously new at this and have no clue what so ever?
Also, anyone have pay-pal experience? I have paid for things with it, but never received money through it.
moped replied: My listings are always plain too - so not creative here, but that looks good Tara.
As far as paypal, they will pay you and I am not sure how you get your money from there because I always just leave it in paypal to buy other things.......
momofone replied: If I remember right I think you made xmas ones maybe put them on ebay now I bet alot of people are looking for holiday items.
Maybe you can sell them in bunches of 10 or so.
PrairieMom replied: I listed a total of 5 pairs, 2 of them are Christmas themed. I was thinking of ways to list my inventory, and them doing something where you mix and match a few, but My brain got confused, and I decided that this would be easier. I think I will try something like that when these auctions are over. It would probably save me on listing fees.
moped replied: Keep us posted~
Oh and try to use as many KEY words in the title for people just searching ya know
Anthony275 replied: maybe try opening an ebay store? you can say HOLIDAY SEASONAL BOWS for more attention
A&A'smommy replied: Thats SOO exciting!!!!
luvmykids replied: A lot of people who hand craft things put a note somewhere in their listing that custom orders are available, or to email them if you want something you don't see. And like Furries said, if you have an ebay store they can see everything you're selling.
Good luck, it's a big step!
maestra replied: I've just started selling on ebay myself. I tend to watch an item for a day or so before I list it. I have found that people don't really start bidding on the item until the day of, so I have an item up right now, that I chose a three day auction for. As it gets to less than 24 hours, more people will start to bid.
Looking at your auction, I might have included a picture of the other side of the barrette, so that people could see what kind it is. I don't always know what kind of barrette it is, but if I see it I know if it works in my kids' hair.
For adding more flair to your auction, such as colors, etc, there is an area in which you can click to use the designer, which will let you add colors and designs. After you click save and preview on the first page, you should notice the place for the selection on the second. I hope that helps!
PrairieMom replied: do you use pay pal ? how does that work? I always pay with paypal, but can I just recieve $ with out changing anything in my account?
maestra replied: I changed to a premier account- I don't pay each month, but I do pay a transaction fee for each payment received. Personal accounts (probably what you have) can only receive a limited amount of payments.
My last sale was 70 total including the shipping, and I paid paypal about $2.
When I changed to a premier account, it helped me to connect my ebay with the paypal.
maestra replied: Oh, and I just thought about it- you might want to add the word "bow" or "bows" into your title, because if I were looking for those, that's what I would search under. You can still edit an auction until someone bids on it, if you want to add terms. You just go into the page for the auction, and you will see a link to edit the listing.
MommyToAshley replied: I haven't sold anything on Ebay, but I buy a lot.
I think your listing looks great. I haven't read all the replies, but I think the bows look cute. You may want to try taking a picture of them on a black background though, I think they would show up better. Just a thought.
Good Luck! Let us know how it goes.
MoonMama replied: I would make a listing offering a custom order. Also I would maybe mention in the title sometimes pageant bows. I have a few friends whose daughters do pageant and I no they look on ebay a lot for bows to go with different outfits. Which would also work for a custom bow order. Good luck.
gr33n3y3z replied: you need to sell many bows insted of just one pair
Like maybe all holiday bows
Then sell reg non holiday bows but sell them like 5 sets of diffrent patterns this way if they see other patterns in the other bundle they will but 2 bundles insted of 1
