I'm MAD!
Maddie&EthansMom wrote: I stopped at a garage sale on Saturday. I just happened to be passing by on my way to the bank and I never get to go to garage sales so I went. They had a little toy for Ethan. The woman was very firm on her price b/c of the condition of the toy and she said she paid $59 for it. She claimed all the pieces were there and she also said it worked, but needed batteries. I didn't have much time (my first mistake) so I paid her my $8 and went on my merry way. I got home and the #@&% thing doesn't work, it is FILTHY with spit up all over it and some parts are missing. WWYD? Should I try to remember where she lives and take it back? Or should I cut my losses? This is a toy I have been looking for and was going to buy one new. I was so excited to find it at a garage sale. I hate liars. I am so mad.
kimberley replied: i can't stand people like that!! if i am not sure about anything, i sell it for 50cents and tell the person it may not work. what she did is rude and if it were me, i would bring it back to her! $8 is expensive for a yard sale and she should be held accountable for her BS! hope you get it settled.
Kaitlin'smom replied: oh how rude, I never sell anything at a yard sale for 8 unless its new! I hope you figure out what you want to do, me I might try and remember where she lived and go bang on her door.
Sunflower04 replied: That would make me mad. I would bring it back and demand your money. At least then when you buy it new you can put the $8 toward it. Good Luck!
coasterqueen replied: Ooooh that would make me furious!!!!! I would try to find her but not sure what she'd do. She's obviously not a very nice person to do that to you to begin with.
Boys r us replied: I would leave it on her doorstep with a nasty letter!
My2Beauties replied: I like the nasty letter thing, no telling if she would give you your $8 back!! That is so rude!!!
ediep replied: yea, I'd definately write a nasty letter and put it on her doorstep with the filthy toy. She SHOULD give you yuor money back, but, like Karen said, she doesn't seem like a nice person so she may not.
redchief replied: I'd put it in one of those disposable aluminum roasting pans. Place it in my grill at 400' for a half hour or so. Allow to cool. Mail it back to former owner without a word of explanation (scarier than any nasty note I could think of). The only thing I would make sure of is that it was still identifyable.
Maddie&EthansMom replied: I will try my hardest to remember where this person lives. I think I have the neighborhood down, but all the houses look the same. Maybe (hopefully) the garage sale signs are still up!! I will let you know what happens. I'm just so mad about this. Getting rid of the toy would make me feel better b/c then it wouldnt' be a reminder of my stupidity and her dishonesty.
A&A'smommy replied: OMG I would take it back and tell her to give me my money back either that or i would throw it all over her front lawn anyway I'm sorry she lied to you!
Kirstenmumof3 replied: OMG I hate people like that! I agree with taking it back to her and explaining that you do not appreciate being had! It's a shame that people do things like this! I hope you get some results, let us know how it goes!
aspenblue1 replied: OMG how rude. I hate when people do that.
Josie83 replied: I don't really have a suggestion of what you could do, but my goodness how rude can you GET! Lying idiot. I can't stand liars, especially who would lie about a baby's toy, that could be unsafe! Grr xx
