If you want to know anything about a Mac...

First off, I consider myself fairly computer literate. Well, at least when it comes to PC's. If Ashley is at my desk, she will play Elmo's World (or other acceptable games) on the PC. But, if she is at Daddy's desk then she uses the Mac next to his PC. DH was going to build her a computer of her own, but she has pretty much claimed the Mac as her own.

So...on with my story:

Anyways, Ashley wanted to watch a DVD on the Mac while I did some work on my computer (DH was out of the office). So, she selects Letter Factory, and I remove it from the case and bend down to put it in the DVD drive. Well, there's no button on the computer to open the DVD ... I look all around and can't figure out how to open the DVD player. So, I look on the desktop for an icon to the drive, check the little pulldown menues, and I still can't figure it out. Ashley asks me what I am doing, and I tell her I can't figure out how to open the DVD drive blush.gif So, Ashley says "you push this button, Mommy" and pushes a triangular key on the keyboard. Then she takes the DVD from my hand, puts it in the drive, clicks on the play icon. When the menu comes up, she says she wants to do the special features instead of playing the video and clicks on the appropriate item. LOL! I guess she put me in my place.

A few minutes later, she was tired of it and said she was going to look at pictures and uses the mouse to click on I-photo. She then preceeds to play a photo show... ohmy.gif laugh.gif Then she decides she wants to play some music and clicks on I-Tunes which brings up a song list. She clicks on a song and hits the play button and "Some Beach" starts to play. LOL!

I guess we have a Mac lover in the house and if I ever need any help, I'll just ask her. It's a good thing we limit her computer time. rolling_smile.gif rolling_smile.gif I was proud of her but embarrassed blush.gif at the same time. LOL!

jcc64 replied: Proves my point about how user friendly Macs are.
Ashley- she's smart and she has good taste!

Dee Dee- it probably wouldn't take you more than an hour or two to figure out a Mac. They basically tell you what to do.

coasterqueen replied: Very cute! love2.gif

I tend to all our pc's here in the office and can troubleshoot them fairly well. One of the lobbyists who rents out office space in our office came to me yesterday trying to do something on a MAC he had just got. I tried and said "nope, not a MAC user, sorry can't help! tongue.gif "

DansMom replied: Ashley impresses me every day rolling_smile.gif I love Macs---they were the first computers I used in a work setting. I'm surrounded by PCs now, though.

amynicole21 replied: Just like Jeanne said - that's a testament to how user friendly they are thumb.gif Love em tongue.gif Of course, Ashley is still far smarter than the average computer user wink.gif

Kaitlin'smom replied:
she could probably run circles around my boss even on a PC laugh.gif

he can never remember how to cut and paste or drag something to the desktop growl.gif

my2monkeyboys replied: That's so awesome! I think it's great that little ones are learning about computers so soon... my nephew will be using them regularly in school when he gets in 3rd grade.
WTG Ashley!
