If you like Huggies, you'll LOVE...
amynicole21 wrote: Target brand diapers! I tried these out on a whim - I am a devout Huggies user and am pretty picky. These were nearly identical to Huggies (regular, not supreme) and about $3 cheaper. Just thought I'd pass that one on
~Roo'sMama~ replied: Do you know if they've changed recently? I tried the target brand newborns about 7 months ago and didn't like them - I think they had the tape instead of velcro? I would love to spend less on diapers but I'm so picky.
amynicole21 replied: Not sure about before, but they're velcro now
~Roo'sMama~ replied: Hmm I should give them another try then! Dh would be so happy.
msoulz replied: Kroger has abrand called Comforts which is affordable, stretchy, and has Velcro. Costs $7 for 56 size 1's. They also have a brand FMV which is really bad, not stretchy and tape.
shelbysmom replied: I use Target brand diapers and I absolutely love them!!!! In the mornings her diapers are filled ( I call them spongy ) and there are no leaks!!!!
MyBrownEyedBoy replied: Are they scented, Logan's bum breaks out if the diapers are scented. Pampers are.
~Roo'sMama~ replied: They weren't when I used them... not like Pampers anyways. Pampers are way too perfumed IMO. Luvs are similar to Pampers and they are pretty smelly, too.
MomToMany replied: If you were really picky about diapers, you'd use cloth .
Cece00 replied: But what about if you dislike cloth and would never use it?
I generally do not like Huggies but I havent used them in awhile. I may have to try those.
~Roo'sMama~ replied: I'm sorry Mollie, but that's just not true. I am picky about what diapers I use. I don't like to use ones that have perfume in them, or that feel scratchy or cheap. I think it's really cool that you use cloth, and I'm not saying that I'd never use them myself, but the fact is I don't right now and that's NOT a bad thing.
MomToMany replied: Have you TRIED cloth diapers?
huggybugboy replied: whew.
MommyToAshley replied: I also liked CVS brand when Ashley was little.
Maddie&EthansMom replied: The Wal Mart brand isn't bad, either. I used those for awhile, but then started back to Pampers b/c the 'velcro' part started scratching his tummy . I'm going to try the Target brand. Thanks!
Cece00 replied: Nope, I havent tried cloth.
I KNOW I would not like them. Want to know how?
Because it means more laundry, of which I already have a ton, which also means more work for me, which is a guarantee that I will not like them. I have 3 kids under 5 & I'm 8 wks pregnant (which means sick, and tired).
Plus, they are more work. Its quicker to just put on a diaper & go rather than have to put in liners & get them all snapped up. I guarantee I could put on a disposable quicker than anyone could put a cloth on a child, hands down.
I also am not into that type of stuff...organic this & that, clothdiapering, etc. Crunchy is about the LAST word people would use to describe me.
So, no need to try them, I never will. I know they arent for me.
And I dont think that if you dont like cloth that it means you arent picky about diapers for your child.
Edward's Mommy replied: I actually prefer Parent's Choice diapers. You can get them at Walmart for $5.74 plus tax.
Mom2Boyz replied: I don't care for Huggies, but I did find a brand at Wal-Greens (can't remember the name) that I really liked. They have little smiley faces that disappear when they're wet. They worked well for us, no leaks at all But we generally use Luvs.
My3LilMonkeys replied: I like parent's choice a lot. But I can only buy them for one kid or the other because they don't put the size number on the diapers like Pampers do and people can't figure out whose diapers are whose. So generally 1 girl wears parents choice and the other wears white cloud.
MomToMany replied: Wow, 2 other loads of laundry is just WAAAAY too much work for some people . And I can gurantee I have a LOT more laundry than you do, but I don't have a problem with it.
I guess I think my kids & the environment are WORTH the extra effort . I should take you up on that challenge of putting a diaper on faster. I KNOW I would win, LOL .
Some people are so amusing .
3_call_me_mama replied: Actually I'd love to challenge you too, since my cloth ones are almost IDENTICAL to the disposbales that everyoen raves about. They are all one piece with velcro tabs on teh sides.... no snap ins, no liners to place or anything....
and ya know what Crunchy isnt' a word that I would use to describe myself either.. but to describe that crinkling sound of a disposable diaper beneath a pair of jean..it sounds crunchy.. literally!!! And don't get me wrong, we used to use disposables, but teh cost and environmental issues were far worse IMO than teh 2 extra loads of laundry a week. I'll stop there as this is gonna get way off topic. ANd I'm sure when Amy was posting a great deal she found she never intended to turn it into a debate or a contest.. so lets just leave it at once again an agreement to disagree that peopel are set in their ways until they choose to see the other side for themselves. (I wont' say set in their ways and never change casue that's not true.. peopel won;t change casue you want them too.. they just keep your thougths in teh back of their mind until it makes sense to them and then they change their minds on their own ) isn't life GRAND!
coasterqueen replied: wrong area.
Edward's Mommy replied: You could take a Washable marker and write the numbers on the right sizes if you like those better and to reduce confusion!!!
Hillbilly Housewife replied: This is out of control.
Thank you Amy for posting about the diapers, duly noted.
