If you have an inside cat
cameragirl21 wrote: just wanted to make a kitty litter rec--I went and got kitty litter made of corn and it is the best stuff I've ever tried. I was getting really tired of the clay based because I was generating so much garbage just in the form of used kitty litter so I wanted something flushable. I tried something you can only order online that's called the world's best kitty litter but I was unimpressed and it really smelled whereas it claimed it would eliminate odor. So I went to Petsmart and got the corn based stuff, you can only get it at a place like Petsmart, Petco, Petsupermarket, etc, you can't get it at the grocery store or Target which is where I used to buy kitty litter. Anyway, it doesnt smell at all, I mean, I can't smell a thing, even when there is stuff in it. I scoop it out several times a day and even so could smell it with the clay and world's best kitty litter. It's flushable, clumps really well and they don't track it. I used to find clay particles in my bed from them going to the litter box and then jumping on my bed, gross. Now, they don't track it at all, I've never found a single grain of it outside the litter box, I just love it! My good friend says I'm starving people by using corn as kitty litter...I hope that's not true. Anyway, just thought I'd let everyone know, I know how much I hated dealing with a smelly litterbox and now that I have not one but two poopsters, I'm so glad I found a solution.

cameragirl21 replied: btw, the title is supposed to say if you have an inside cat...could a mod change it for me, please?
luvbug00 replied: all our cats are outdoor to avoid the kitty litter issue, Glad you were able to find a good one because without it kittys can be little stinkers in that 12x12 box..lol
Boo&BugsMom replied: How expensive is it compared to regular clumping liter? I am so tired of liter being dragged all over. Although the liter box is in the basement, it still gets tracked around the house in very odd places and gets stuck to their paws.
AlexsPajamaMama replied: My cats both go outside but are inside most of the time. The worst part of the whole litter box deal is the tracking of litter. I cant stand stepping on it with bare feet!! Ill have to check out the kind you mentioned. We just got a new Petco near us.
AlexsPajamaMama replied: I just did a search on their site petco.com to see their differant options and prices on cat litter.... They have another type I may be interested in using. Its called Swheat Scoop Wheat enzymes naturally eliminate odor Wheat starches clump firmly - for easy scooping No clay, chemicals or fragrances Low dust, less tracking Biodegradable, certified flushable Ideal for automatic litter box use
Id love to use a flushable litter!!
cameragirl21 replied: I have tried the wheat based and didn't like it as much but I've heard others like it. The corn based is 7.99 a bag and for 2 cats it's supposed to last 2 week so it comes to about 16 dollars a month. It's probably more than what I paid for the clay based but to have something that is flushable and clean and doesn't smell is worth the extra cost for me.
luvmykids replied: It's probably made from the same corn they use to feed livestock, which isn't suitable for human consumption.
AlexsPajamaMama replied: Is the corn litter actual corn...or is it ground up corn?
cameragirl21 replied: It's little granules of yellow...stuff. It doesn't look like corn kernels except the color is right, it's yellow. And they're little square like granules, kind of like clay kitty litter but not quite so fine. And Monica, does that mean I'm starving livestock? I would have a problem with that just as much as you all know....
cameragirl21 replied: Btw, I made a mistake--the corn kind I DO like is called world's best kitty litter...the kind I tried that I didn't care for was called Pet Ecology Perfect Litter. Just so there's no confusion.
