If you had to re-name your kids - a friend asked me this
Nina J wrote: A friend on msn just asked me what I would call my kids if I had to re-name them .
One of the names we first considered for a girl with my first pregnancy, but took off the list very early on, was Claire. But I've always thought that Claire would've suited Emily more, so if I had to re-name her I would call her Claire.
If I had to re-name Odessa, it would be Heidi.
What would you do??
Bee_Kay replied: Here are some names that I like--
Girls: Emily, Emma, Abigail, Olivia
Boys: Riley, Zachary, Tristan, Dylan
It's funny, because when I had Ashley and Tyler.... I didn't know ANYONE with an "Ashley" and "Tyler".... soon thereafter, Ashley and Tyler became popular names.
BAC'sMom replied: I don't think I would rename my kids. I love their names.
Bee_Kay replied: LOL! I wouldn't change their names either.... I was just saying what other names I like
C&K*s Mommie replied: Christian:
Paige, or Laney
Kellie:
Danielle (a name we were tossing up)
Those are what I can think of at the moment.
If we had boys we would have named them:
Christopher JoRon, or he would have been a Jr. after Chris. I would have loved to use: Jacob, JD, JP, Jack, really almost any "J" name.
My3LilMonkeys replied: Brooke's wouldn't change. Madison *might* become MacKenzie, only becuase it was a tough deciscion and MacKenzie is slightly less popular than Madison.
Boys r us replied: Hmmm...I wouldn't change either of their names. I wanted to name Braedon - Nicholas Joseph b/c then he would have been named after both Rick and I(Rick's middle name is Joseph). But instead he was Braedon Joseph. So if we have a boy this time his middle name will be Nicholas. So I guess it worked out fine!
Now, had Tanner been a girl..I might seriously have contemplated changing his name after the fact..lol
If he was a girl, I was going to name him Allegra Danielle and call him alli. This was 10 years ago..so long before the allergy medicine, Allegra, came about!!! I loved that name..but the medicine probably would have ruined it for me!
MyBrownEyedBoy replied: Logan would be Caleb, but I wouldn't change his middle name for a billion dollars. It's a special family name that goes back to the 1700's. So he'd be Caleb Read.
Maddie&EthansMom replied: Well, we had Ethan's name picked out way before I ever heard of anyone being named Ethan except Ethan Hawke or Ethan Frome. By the time we had him Scotty was so stuck on that name that he wouldn't consider changing it. I like his name....I couldn't imagine him being anything but Ethan (although I do have a million nicknames for him ) He's Ethan Scott...named after his daddy.
And Madeleine Estelle...she was named after my Nanie. My Nanie's name was Madgelene. Scotty thought that sounded too 'old' and dated. I kick myself for not going ahead and naming her that. Madeleine is far too common and we would have called her Maddie anyway, just as we do now. My Nanie's mother made an error when naming her, though. It was supposed to be Magdelene....like Mary Magdelene from the Bible. She spelled it wrong. My Nanie always went by "Madge".
PrairieMom replied: I can't imagin Benjamin being named anyhting different. He is totally a Ben. with the way this little one is kicking, i think Alexis will suit her perfectly too. I don't think I would change a thing.
boyohboyohboy replied: directly after I delivered my second son, my husband got on the phone and started calling all the family members and telling them his name was Jakob, it was a name we had talked about but we hadnt decided on one, we also liked levi which I think suits him better now..... He just to excited he says! Now I get to name the next one, or atleast hid the cell phone!
caleb is definately a caleb Jordon and Jakob is Jakob Levi
mckayleesmom replied: I wouldn't change McKaylees name at all, except we origionally had 2 middle names for her....Her name was suppose to be Mckaylee Hunter Grace.....We dropped the Hunter at the last minute, but we should have left it in because her grandpa still calls her his little Hunter.
With Russell...I HATED that we were naming him Russell, but Leithan won the bet....So we named him Russell.....Russell is dh's grandfathers name. I wouldn't change it now because he isn't anything but a Russell. I just won't let anyone call him Rusty...I hate that name.
ions_momma replied: We actually had other names picked out before we chose Ion. We liked the names Caiden and Gavin, but then a close friend of ours died a few days before I gave birth to him, so we decided to give the baby his name. It fits him perfectly! He acts so much like the guy he was named after, its just weird! I wouldnt ever change it!
AlexsPajamaMama replied: I wouldnt change his name...Alex was the first name we came up with and called him Baby Alex when he was in my belly...he would be a totally differant person if he had a differant name!!
youngmomofone replied: My daughter's name is Riley Marie and I would have named her Claire Olivia which was what I wanted to name her in the first place.
luvbug00 replied: we named Mya last minuate and with that i think her name was just ment to be. I like it
mummy2girls replied: I have always loved the name Brianna for a girl but Aron didnt like it so thats why we agreed on Jenna. But if it was up to me i would of named her Brianna Elizabeth:)
MyBrownEyedBoy replied: And never ever ever Chase!!!
mummy2girls replied: LOL... yes but if Jenna was a boy i think Aron would of wanted Chase as the first name and i would of agreed to it. I dont mind Chase for a girls middle name but he should of thought of it before we named her not 3 years after the fact...LOL
MyLuvBugs replied: ITA. I think the name(s) we've chosen are perfect for the kids personalities (well, Lorelei's is anyway. )
MommyToAshley replied: Ashley came very close to being named Paige. (We finally made the decision at the hospital the night she was born). We also almost spelled Ashley like "Ashleigh". But, people were mispronouncing it, so we just spelled it the traditional way. I can't imagine Ashley being called anythig else. No other name seems to fit her. But, if I were forced to change her name, it would probably be Paige.
Kaitlin'smom replied: Years ago when we talked about names we liked Stormy Nicole, it was on the list but just did not seem right anymore. She did get the the middle name it was the only name that went with all the choise we had. I wont give out my other choise as I dont hear it now and if we ever have another she just might be named that.
ilovemybaby replied: When I was pregnant with Abby the other names on the list were ...
Ashley Amelia Gabrielle Isabelle
The other names on my list this time are...
Hannah Deborah Naomi Isabelle
We chose Sophie.
