I wish there was a way to report this...

MomToJade&Jordan wrote: I was driving home about 20 minutes ago and I happened to look over at this min-van. The woman had a book stretched over the steering wheel and she was reading. ohmy.gif You know I understand being into a book, but I have never thought to get behind the wheel and read while I was driving. How can someone endanger other people that way? I got a license plat number, but I'm not really sure that will make a difference. Unbelievable. dry.gif

luvbug00 replied: i dont' really care what people do at stop lights but i agree with it being very scary when people do things WHILE they drive. dry.gif i doubt the poliece would do anything though sleep.gif

Danalana replied: blink.gif
You know, driving is scary, if you stop and think about who's on the road....drunks, people who are really sleepy, AND some people can't even see! I work at a vision center, and you wouldn't believe who's driving. They'll come out of the exam room with contacts, or they'll put on their new glasses and exclaim "It's so good to be able to see!" Really, some people who are driving around can't see 2 feet in front of them.

Miranda1127 replied: omg i would so call my local police district (not 911) and report her. give her license plate #, make and model, best discribtion of her you can and location of where she was when you seen her. that is just a complete disregard for public safety. mad.gif stupid drivers really get me P.O.ed growl.gif

redchief replied: You can also sign a citizen's complaint yourself.

lisar replied:
I agree. Just see what they say.

grapfruit replied:
How does that work?? Can you complain about the lazy people who park in the fire lane at the grocery store?? growl.gif growl.gif They make me so mad!! I love it when the park right underneath the sign that says "No Parking Fire Lane" ARG!!!

Miranda1127 replied:
lol. let me know how that works i'm in. lets get rid of them

Crystalina replied: Whenever I tell DH to watch the road he always says, "I'm a good driver." And he is. He's been driving his Peterbilt for 15 yrs with no violations at all but like I told him, it's not that I'm worried about his driving, I'm worried how the other idiots on the road are driving.

A truck side-swiped me, busted out my passenger window and would have smacked me in the face with his side mirror if I had been leaning an closer to the door. He had one of those big diesels with the mirrors that stick out into the other lane. dry.gif Anyway, his mirror came through my window and he just kept going. He left me there covered in glass and he could care less. More then likely the bum was either drunk or had no insurance because his vehicle was alot nicer then mine (I had my old Astro). rolleyes.gif

Other drivers are scary.

Boo&BugsMom replied: Was it a book of maps? You know, a book with road maps in it that it could have made it seem like she was reading just a regular ole book. ??? Some of those books with maps look like regular reading books.

MomToJade&Jordan replied: No this wasn't an atlas. It was a paperback. All I saw were words.

Calimama replied: Ridiculous. rolleyes.gif

A&A'smommy replied: Well I'm sure if she was spotted by a cop she would have gotten a ticket but I think they have to be caught while doing it... if you had a cell phone I would have said to call 911 and report it if nothing else you did your part!! I'm a firm believer in calling the cops!!! wink.gif

Boo&BugsMom replied:
Yikes! That's scary!

Twelve Volt Man replied: I don't know about other states, but in NC, she wasn't breaking the law, so there's nothing that could be done. Now, anyone who's reading while driving, will inevitably violate another traffic law, but the act of reading while driving, in and of itself, isn't illegal. And we don't have citizen's complaints, either.
