I went grocery shopping
mckayleesmom wrote: 170 bucks...Yikes!!....That is the most I have spent on groceries since moving here. I had to get trash bags, pedialite (thanks to Mckaylees ex-lax adventure) toilet paper, laundry detergent, and zip lock bags this time. Usually I space those things in 1 at a time so the total isn't so dang high, but of course all the expensive stuff we were out of.
C&K*s Mommie replied: I have Chris do the shopping, he actually buys food! But if I did go that would be not too far off the normal bill for me. Usually $120 was typical. But that was part groceries/household items and other 'junk' from Walmart.
mckayleesmom replied: Ya...I hate household items...they always make my bill skyrocket.
punkeemunkee'smom replied: Gotta LOVE those "just a few things extra" trips to Walmart!
moped replied: I wish!!! I spend about 250 every 2 weeks
mckayleesmom replied: Ya...usually I think my bill is high and then realize I forgot half the stuff I needed
C&K*s Mommie replied: I was just commenting today that it is no wonder why I have a few extra dollars, I have not been to Walmart in 'I do not know how long'!
CantWait replied: Ha I went grocery shopping last night and spent $300 plus I got a couple sets of pjs for Robbie, a set for Anthony and a couple tshirts for Anthony, and a pair of slippers for myself. In total it was close to $400.00, but wow is my cupboard stocked full now.
Cece00 replied: Wow, I think $170 is darn good. I'd spend that every 2 wks in food....I've spent as much as $220 every 2 wks....cant wait to see my grocery bill when I have 4 teenaged kids....god help us if this baby I'm pregnant with is a boy! 3 boys can do some serious damage to food
FIL tells me all of the time how his food bill was at least $1k a month for him, stepMIL & 4 boys (Dh & his 3 brothers...)
OUCH!
My3LilMonkeys replied: Ouch is right!
We stay pretty low - $60-80 a week including extras. But then the kids are still smallk, and dieting means buying less junk!
Maddie&EthansMom replied: I'm afraid to go grocery shopping. I spend a fortune at the store.
When we were growing up my mother spent so much money at the grocery store. I really don't know how she kept us fed. She cooked big meals, too. I have 3 older brothers and their friend lived with us for about 6 years. So 4 boys and me, mom and dad...we all ate a lot. She never bought junk food, though and no cokes or anything 'extra'.
TeagansMom609 replied: Our grocery bill every two weeks is usually around $215 but luckily we have a store card and after scanning that it usually comes down to $175. Thats just food, we buy everything else at Wal-Mart. (paper goods, etc.)
MamaJAM replied: We spend anywhere from $120-$190 per week at the store (depends if we need meat, TP, diapers, dog & cat food, etc). I can usually keep it under $150 no matter what - but occasionally we top $200 (I hate those weeks).
luvbug00 replied: I spent for Me, Brad and Mya $60 a week. Now that was crunching it down to nessesitys only. in the apt. we where skimpin and scraping for money.
jacobsmama replied: Yeah I usually spend about 100 to 120 each week at walmart! I hate it because I know we need the stuff but I hate buying it!
fashionmumofboys replied: I usually spend $200 weekly on food and other necessities for the home. WalMart can get pretty addictive I would say.
