I want to do the happy dance! - Will you do it with me?
coasterqueen wrote: Okay, Dh and I tried something different with Kylie by *toying* with her nighttime routine and nap routine at the sitter and guess what? She has been such a happy baby all week! I have a different child! Somebody slap me!!!
We moved the start of her bedtime routine from 7:30 to 7 and it's worked wonders. Now at 7:30 when it's time for sleep, and sometimes earlier than that she will either walk back to her bedroom on her own and then I nurse her and she falls asleep or I take her back there and she nurses/goes to sleep I don't know what to do with myself from 7:30 to bedtime! I exercised one night, but just couldn't get in the mood any other day. LOL. One day she did stay up later and gave me grief, but it was teething, so that's understandable.
Also, we moved her nap times up at the sitter, with her help of course. She was taking her nap late in the afternoon and we moved it up to early afternoon.
So....I'm in heaven, I'm in heaven
Also, for almost 17 months now Kylie has woken up every 2 hours consistently to nurse. Well 2 nights ago she went 2x of 3 hour stretches between nursing and last night she went completely 3 hours between each session! Wahoooooooooooo! Course she woke up at 4:30 a.m. for the day, so I'm tired, but I think this is because she's getting used to this new routine and her body still needs time to adjust to it all.
So, crossing my fingers, we are hoping she continues down this GREAT path! We'll wait a month, and if she is still doing good, we'll start working on slowly getting me out of her bed at night, since we co-sleep. I actually do love co-sleeping, but I really want to stop these night nursings, at least some.
I am just sooo happy. I hope I'm not celebrating too early. It's been a week, which has been the longest ever she has done something consistently. Hehehehe. Well, except for the 17 months of consistently waking every 2 hours to nurse, but who's counting?
coasterqueen replied: OH and forgot to mention that DH actually was the one to get her to sleep last night. He let me watch Friends and so he put her to bed. Usually I have to nurse her first before he can get her to go to sleep, but last night she went to sleep without nursing.

kit_kats_mom replied: AWESOME!! I hope it works for you guys. We had a lot of success moving K's bedtime from 10 to between 7 & 8 when she was about 10 months old. We usually have a couple of free hours each night and it is NICE! Her schedule has gotten all screwed up with this sickness but I'm hoping to have her back on track within the next few days!

coasterqueen replied: Thanks everyone. We had a bump in the road Friday evening, but it wasn't too bad. It's been pretty good the rest of the weekend. She is actually napping right now and it was a piece of cake to put her down. Hehehehe. I get excited about the littlest things.
