I think I need a meds increase.

Hillbilly Housewife wrote: Maybe it's just stress getting to me... but I take my meds at 7am with breakfast (coffee...lol), and by 3pm I sooo would love to be able to take another one. I get short tempered, annoyed...you name it. Course it could just mean that it's because I've just had about 2 hours of napping kids and alone time, Zach gets home around 2:40 and plays with Ben the daycare kid, and the other 3 wake up around 3:15... blush.gif

My afternoons seem to go sooooo sloooooow between 3 and 4:30 when the kids go home... then from 4:30 to 7pm it's even loooooooooonger for the kids to get to bed... and I crash and burn into bed earlier and earlier...

what do you think...exhaustion, or not enough meds?

booey2 replied: Sorry no advice, haven't had experience with meds, sounds like you could be exhausted. Wanted to offer hug.gif 's.

CantWait replied: Sounds like exhaustion. The meds aren't there to make you less tired Rocky. Try having a little more for breakfast, and a healthy snack mid afternoon before you start to crash.

I get like this often especially when I've very busy. I'll get shakey and tired. I usually have a fruit, or yogart and some juice.

Jamison'smama replied: If you are on typical anti-depressants, their half life is longer than a day so taking another at lunch wouldn't make a difference. I get the same way after lunch at times too. If you are feeling more depressed overall, maybe trying an increased dose would help, if not, you can go back down.

luvmykids replied: I have serious afternoon crashes where I've thought I was about to completely flip out, grouch, irritable, short tempered, just plain mean, tired and mad, and honest to goodness eating mini meals is the only way I can avoid them.

my2monkeyboys replied: I agree that it sounds more like exhaustion. I'd try the mini-meals, too. As a matter of fact, even now I have to keep small snacks around bc my blood sugar level gets off and I get tired and irritible. Is there any time you could take a small 20-min cat nap? That may help you get through the day, too.
HTH!

kimberley replied: hug.gif you sound beat hon. wanna come to toronto for a weekend and drink wine and watch movies?? lol

try to get some rest and hang in there. if you can't kick the feeling, go back to your doc to change your meds. we are here for you. hug.gif

booey2 replied:
Okay, I'll second that - we could all get sitters, rent a hotel room, watch movies and drink wine and catch up. hug.gif 's again.

Hillbilly Housewife replied:
I'll be there in 4 1/2 hours.

(jk...mostly...)

That sounds great actually. When's the next long weekend? rolling_smile.gif

Hillbilly Housewife replied: You guys are probably right. The half life on my meds is 8 hours I believe. But eating mini mieals might help...stupid me I didn't even think about that. Thanks!!!!!
