I think I might give up the internet for a week - Crystalina's post got me thinking...

Maybe if I gave it up for a week, my house would be clean, I'd spend more time with DH & Cam, and I might cut back on smoking. I could actually be productive with my time!

What do you think? Could you go a week without the computer/internet?

Karah! I would miss YOU too! But I seriously spend so much time on here... or the interent in general, the I'm curious to see if I can do
it. I have really cut back this week on the computer, and I noticed how many things I got accomplished. I'm sure I'd be wondering myself crazy, what is going on at the boards, but that's the challenge at least! The only reason I want to try it is to prove to myself that I can do other things with my time. I'm sure I would shock the heck out of Justin!

My3LilMonkeys replied: Personally, I couldn't do it because I have to use the internet for work. Now if you're talking strictly personal time, I certainly could but I'm not sure I would want to.

ediep replied: I just did it last week while on vacation.....no internet at my parents vacation house in Florida. Although, I admit, I did use DH's handheld email phone to make some lans with Amynicole. I did miss it, but the time that I am usually reading the message boards, I spent reading.

MamaJAM replied: I've stayed away from the computer for over a week a few times...it really wasn't that hard. The first day I thought about going on-line...but after that it was easy. I actually found it harder to be back on daily after I returned.
I spent a bit more time with the kids during my 'time off' -- but most of the time I spend on the computer is when they are occupied with other things. So, mostly, I just read more.

But no boards or fun stuff? without a doubt. Done it before nad most likely will do it again. (When i went to FLorida in December only went online to report some work stuff, but not much else !)

I dont know what I'd do with myself when my kids were napping or when I get bored @ night when DH isnt home.

luvmykids replied: When I was sick last week it was actually kind of hard to start getting on a lot again, I had gotten back into reading a lot. I don't have a lot of time, I have to choose, either internet OR reading OR TV. I usually choose the internet! But I could do it if I wanted to.

My house would really appreciate it. I could clean out my fridge. I've been meaning to do that for a month!


Anyone else in? I don't think it'll be THAT hard.

coasterqueen replied: At home it would be VERY easy to do because when I'm home I have enough other stuff to do. At work, I use it for work, so that would be hard BUT it would probably be better if I stayed off the boards at work.

Well I'm giving it up for a week. I think that will be a long enough amount of time for me to get stuff done, and feel like I've really "given it up". KWIM? But whatever you decide to do is cool. I'm glad someone's doing it with me! I'm starting today, actually in a few min. I'll be back on for a few min. on Thursday, but besides that I"ll be MIA until Monday.

Crystal, how long are you giving it up?

i would go nuts without my computer! I would i admit it.
What i do to make sure I get all the time with everything is when I wake up. I set sabrina up with breakfast. I vaccum while she eats. Then while she is playing i dust the downstairs. Then we play and hangout til lunch. At lunch I sit with her and eat mine. Then at nap time I put her down and dust the upstairs. Then off to shower. I usually clean the bathroom when I am "showering". Then its computer time since Dh is gone at work and sabrina is out for a nap. When she wakes up Sabrina and I have a snack as she plays i decided on dinner and make it. Usually by this time someone is here to entertain her(grandma or grandpa). Then Sabrina helps me set the table for dinner. While the dinner is cooking I wash the dishes and empty the dishwasher if someone hasn't done it already. Dinner we all eat then usually someone else usually cleans the table up so that i can have time with sabrina again! Then i usually load the dishwasher cause someone does it wrong. I am very very anal with cleaning LOL!
I clean daily, this is a daily thing. usually saturday and sunday i dont dust but i do vaccum and stuff.
When Sabrina goes to sleep chris and i usualy snuggle on the couch watch tv... We divide tv and computer time. Either way we are always together talking and shootin the doody while on the computer or watching tv

AGAIN DON'T LEAVE!!
