I think I might be needing to post here.... - and a little worried about it

However, it didn't show up until the very end of the time window. I'm so nervous. Could I really be pg? Again?! Because I have an iud, I will be speaking to my dr first thing tomorrow. I might even take another test this afternoon to see what it says!

Pregnancy tests, if looked at after 10 minutes of being used...can show a false positive. That is because there is a thing called an evaporation line. The cheaper the test, the more likely it is to happen (I got this result when I wasn't preggo but looked at after 10 minutes).

If it were me, I'd get a blood test. That is what I did when I found out I was pregnant with our angel. I did take tests and only looked at them for the first 10 minutes to know and they always said that I was. But I got a blood test b/c I was nursing and wanted to know if it was affected by the nursing.

I highly recommend the EPT digital test. Very effective. Because it says either 'pregnant' or 'not pregnant'. Better than reading a bunch of lines and wondering!

You can get preggo with an IUD. A lady in my office did.

amynicole21 replied: I was thinking the same thing as Julie - after a long period of time you can sometimes see another line when it isn't actually a positive result. But, since you took another and saw one, it might just be that you are preggo!! I would call your doc ASAP to make sure, they will have to remove the IUD pretty quickly. Congrats!!!

Maddie&EthansMom replied: The first test I took with this pg was a cheap test. I did the same thing as you, laid it down and forgot about it. When I looked at it the next day it was positive. I threw it in the trash and disregarded it. 3 days later I took another test when AF didn't arrive and it was positive immediately. It could be that your hcg levels aren't detecting right away. A blood test should confirm it for sure. I would say that you are pg, but let us know after you talk to your doc. And also tell us what he says about getting pg on the IUD. I will pray there are no dangers involved for the baby conceived on an IUD. I assume that is why you mentioned talking to him so soon. Best of luck!!!

I think you maybe right. This morn I tried again and got a neg- so I am going to wait a few days and see. I'm not worried though- I have my yearly appt scheduled for next Monday, so I can talk to the n.p. about it then.

I'm just worried about having the iud and getting preg- there are a lot of risks.

Dh says he's not ready yet anyways!
